BISHOP OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BISHOP, Forrest W. "Bill" 1919 - 1991 Forrest W. "Bill" Bishop, 72, Bunceton, died Tuesday afternoon, November 12, 1991, at the Boone Hospital Center, in Columbia. He was born January 28, 1919, in Cooper County, the son of William Jesse and Ethel Jane Bell Bishop. On January 10, 1942, in Tipton, he married Velma Frances Brodersen who survives of the home. He was a member of Bunceton Baptist Church. He worked as an area serviceman for Missouri Utilities Co. until he retired in 1976. He lived in Bunceton since 1955 and Cooper County all of his life. Survivors include five sons, Billy Gene Bishop, Gualala, California, Roy Lee Bishop, Liberty, Lloyd Dean Bishop, Bunceton, Forrest Allen Bishop, Bunceton; two daughters, Ruth Ellen Young, Bunceton, and Martha Frances Embry, Boonville; one brother, Arthur Lee Bishop, Odessa; one sister, Mary Bell Nelson, Syracuse; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Friday, November 15, at the Heckart-Gillespie Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Harold Norfleet officiating. Pallbearers were Gregory Bishop, Todd Gardner, Kevin Young, Brian Young, Jess Bishop, Eric Bishop, Brandon Bishop, Brent Young, Christopher Bishop and Aaron Embry. Burial was in the Syracuse Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association. BISHOP, Rosa Viola McINTIRE 1894 - 1993 Rosa Viola Bishop, the daughter of Hesakia Hamilton and Mary Elizabeth (Pasley) McIntire was born in Monegaw Springs on Feb. 10, 1894. She departed this life at Westwood Nursing Center in Clinton on Sept. 13, 1993 at the age of 99 years. Rosa grew up in Monegaw Springs area and later lived in the Johnson City area for 67 years. She also lived in the Lowry City area before moving to Clinton in October of 1992. She was united in marriage to Mike Bishop in 1923. No children were born to this union, but they raised their niece Abby Shepard as their own daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, three brothers, James A. Arthur and Charlie McIntire, and two sisters, Myrtle Ashby and Maud Dorrell. She is survived by two grandsons, Lonnie Shepard and his wife Connie, Larry Shepard and his wife Wanda; six great-grandchildren, Tina Mitchell, Mike, Christie, and Leon Shepard, Michelle and Lorie Ortmyer; six great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Rosa attended the Johnson City Church of God. God was always with Rosa in her actions as in the songs she sang. Rosa's enjoyment was talking and singing with her grandchildren and she loved visiting with her friends. She loved to crochet and give away her work as gifts. When she was in her own home she had beautiful violets and outdoor flowers all around her home. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 1993 at Hill & Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, with Minister Larry Wheeler officiating. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery.
