BOYD OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BOYD, Bertha M. BECK WOLF 1927 - 1991 William H. Boyd, age 69, and his wife, Bertha M. Boyd, age 64 passed away Tuesday, July 30, 1991, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Cross Timbers, Missouri. - Bertha M. Boyd was born on July 18 1927, at Cross Timbers, Missouri, the daughter of Eldo J. and Carrie Admire Beck. She moved to Independence where she was united in marriage to Hank Wolf and unto this union 2 sons and 4 daughters were born. Her husband, Hank, preceded her in death on February of 1978. After his death she continued to make her home in Independence. On May 18, 1986, she was united in marriage to William H. Boyd at Fristoe and they made their home in Cross Timbers. She was a very active member of the Assembly of God Church all her life and was a member of the Warsaw Assembly of God Church at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her father and one grandson Travis Wolf. She is survived by two sons, Frank E. Wolf of Sugar Creek, Missouri and Ronald W. Wolf, of Lee's Summit, Missouri and four daughters, Karen S. Beck, Elizabeth A. Long, both of Cross Timbers, Brenda J. Fields and Rebecca L. Hogge, both of Independence, Missouri and 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Carrie A. Beck of Cross Timbers and 5 brothers, Joe Beck of Fort Worth, Texas, Jesse Beck of Fristoe, James Floyd of Joplin, Munroe Beck of Edmonds, Oklahoma and Nelson Beck of Cross Timbers, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Boyd's pallbearers were Keith Bowlby, Randy Beck, George E. Colbert, Donnie Miller, Kelly Miller and Fred Jewitt. Burial was in the New Home Cemetery, Cross Timbers. BOYD, John Franklin 1860 - 1933 Judge Boyd Answers Heavenly Summons - The spirit of Judge J. F. Boyd has returned to its Maker, as he passed into Eternity at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 18th. The previous Monday he was stricken with paralysis and two more strokes came Thursday and he died at his home 2 1/2 miles north and east of Brownington. John Franklin Boyd, the son of John and Elizabeth Lawler Boyd, was born March 19, 1860, in St. Clair County, Mo. His mother was left a widow when he was about nine years old and he became her prop and mainstay. February 16, 1879, he was married to Miss Landona Wears, who preceded him to the Heavenly Home, March 12, 1927. To this union were born eight children - four sons and four daughters, all of whom are left to mourn a loving father. The sons are: G. M. Boyd, of Centralia, Mo.; William, Pullman, Wash.; Lee, Clinton, and Clifton, Maysville, Mo. The daughters are: Mrs. Myrtle Pogue, Mrs. Mary Wycoff, Mrs. Grace Dody, Brownington, and Miss Ola of the home. There are 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, J. R. Boyd, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Drusilla Hoops, Ipswich, South Dakota; and Mr. Boyd was a half brother of the late Rev. W. S. Weir. In 1885, the deceased was converted and united with Bethlehem Baptist church and for 48 years has given true hearted, loyal service to his Master thru this church. He was ordained to the deaconship of the church in 1915. In 1910 he was elected judge of the South District of Henry County, and was re-elected. In 1914 he was elected presiding judge of the county court, and served his county for two terms. He was a man who never stinted his work for others. Most men quit paying a poll tax when they reach the age limit, but Judge Boyd never considered himself too old to give his services wherever they were needed, and each year donated work to build better roads. He served as school director of his district for many years and was always interested in education. He was a great reader and kept up with the progress of his country. He had lived in the Bethlehem neighborhood 49 years. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. by Rev. D. D. Tally at the Bethlehem church, and his body was laid to rest in the nearby cemetery. BOYD, Mary K. AGIN abt 1915 - 1991 Mary K. Boyd, 76, Blue Springs died August 13, 1991, at the Independence Regional Health Center. She was born in Linneus, Mo., and lived in this area most of her life. Mrs. Boyd was a timekeeper for Sears Roebuck and Company for 10 years. She attended Kansas City Junior College. She was a member of the South Crysler congregation of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Richard H. Boyd Jr. of the home; a son, Richard H. "Tres" Boyd III, Blue Springs; a daughter, Kathe McKee, Geneseo, IL; three brothers, Robert Agin, Lincoln, Mo., Ted Agin, Blue Springs, and David Agin, Houston; a sister Margaret Jacobs, Kansas City; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m., Sunday at Newcomer's Floral Hills Chapel, burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Boyd, age 64 passed away Tuesday, July 30, 1991, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Cross Timbers, Missouri. - William was born on September 2, 1921 at Kansas City, Missouri, the son of William J. and Ethel Ramy Boyd. He grew up in the Kansas City area and worked as a policeman for Lake Waukomis in Platte County before retiring in 1986. He was a United States Navy veteran serving his country during World War II. On May 18, 1986, he was united in marriage to Bertha Wolf at Fristoe. Following their marriage they made their home in Cross Timbers. He was a member of the Warsaw Assembly of God Church. He is survived by four sisters; Betty Waters and Virginia Burton, both of North Kansas City, Missouri, Audrey Spicer of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Helen Muck of Carmichael California; 2 stepsons and 4 stepdaughters. Funeral services for William H. Boyd and his wife, Bertha M. Boyd, were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 1991 at 11 a.m. in the Warsaw Assembly of God Church with Rev. J. W. Smith officiating. Pallbearers for Mr. Boyd were Darl Wright, Ray Miller, Dayton Parks, Jim Summers, Tommy Nichols and Leroy Walker.
