BRADLEY OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BRADLEY, Adelia H. CHRISTIAN 1848 - 1886 Mrs. Adelia H. Bradley is no more. She has fulfilled the mission that was allotted her, and using her life's burden for a pillow, she has laid down to that rest from which none are disturbed. She was conscious that her life had been well spent and she had left nothing undone that God had designed and intended for her. She knew the hour for her final departure was nearing and she calmly called her husband to the bedside Monday night about 8 o'clock and said: "Kiss me goodbye. I can't remain with you any longer, I have to give up. Treat the children well." And to the children, she said: "Be good boys, be good to the baby." Then she said: "It is getting darker, darker, Oh for the last breath." Then she fell into that dreamless sleep that kisses down the eyelids and all that was mortal of Mrs. Bradley passed from earth to that glittering sanctuary beyond the dark river of death. Her maiden name was Christian and she was born in Pettis County and was 38. She joined the Christian Church in Leesville in 1867 and was married to John A. Bradley in 1870. She leaves four boys, the youngest being only three weeks old, and a kind and affectionate husband to mourn her loss. After the funeral at the Christian Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1886, the remains were consigned to the Englewood Cemetery, followed by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and relatives.
