BULLARD OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BULLARD, Iva Lou WADLEIGH 1924 - 1996 Iva Lou Wadleigh was born March 25, 1924, in Brandon, Mo., the daughter of Louis and Ona (Upton) Wadleigh. At age five, the family moved to Green Ridge, where all five of the Wadleigh children attended the Green Ridge School. On September 27, 1942, in Green Ridge, Iva Lou married James Bullard and to this union four children were born, James, Cheryl, Loring and Deborah. During James' service in the military the family moved to many cities, including Santa Anna, California, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Shreveport, Louisiana, Columbia, South Carolina, and Lake Charles, Louisiana. After his discharge from the service James attended college at Rolla and Warrensburg. After college James' employment took the family to Pacific, Holden, Warrensburg, Springfield, Kansas City and Urich, where James was a Presbyterian minister and the family has lived for over 30 years. Iva Lou died in the early morning hours on October 22, 1996, at the home of her daughter, Cheryl Smith, east of Urich. Iva Lou is survived by her husband of 54 years, James of the home; two sons, James Wesley Bullard IV and wife, Judy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Loring Bullard and wife, Carol, of Springfield; two daughters, Cheryl Smith and husband, Stephen of Urich, and Deborah Garten and husband, Kirk, of St. Charles; nine grandchildren, James Wesley V, Krystal, Julietta, Elena and Claire Bullard, Christopher Smith, Stephanie Powell and Lauren and Rachel Garten; four great-grandchildren, Chelsea Bullard, April Bullard-Bollinger, and Katelyn and Andrew Powell. Also surviving are two brothers, Elmer Wadleigh of Beaumont, Texas, Harvey Wadleigh of Raytown and a sister, Mable Templeton of Kansas City. Iva Lou was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cleo. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 25, at the Consalus Chapel, Urich. Dr. Robert Stevenson officiated. A special music selection was "How Great Thou Art". Organist was Frances Patrick. Pallbearers were James Bullard V, Christopher Powell, Doug Shulse, Christopher Smith, Marcus Cumpton and James Allen.
