BURKE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BURKE, Mary E. BENEZETTE 1877 - 1935 Mrs. Robert J. Burke died at the St. Joseph hospital in Kansas City about noon Wednesday, where she had been the past ten days. She was taken dangerously ill July 6 with an abscess of the liver and gall bladder trouble. Her temperature ran so high the physicians were unable to operate or drain the abscess even after she was taken to the hospital. During this last illness loved ones watched and prayed, but her sufferings were brought to an end. Mary Benezette was born April 4, 1877, near Garland, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Benezette. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Robert J. Burke about 36 years ago. She was one of Henry county's prettiest women, a fine, high type Christian, beautiful of face and gentle of spirit, devoted to her home and ever ready with hand and heart to help her own people, neighbors and friends, and in the church. She was converted soon after her marriage and united with the Garland Baptist church where she had held her membership since. She is survived by her beloved husband and four children, Frank Burke, of Garland; Hisle Burke, West Jefferson, Clinton; Edgar Lewis Burke, at home, and Mrs. George Hetherington, North Third, Clinton. There are two grandchildren, Bobby Burke, of Garland and R. T. Hetherington of Clinton; also three sisters, Mrs. Jessie McWhirt, Centerview, Mo.; Mrs. Abbie Woodruff, Siloam Springs, Mo.; and Mrs. George A. Johnson, Garland; and three brothers, Howard and Harry Benezette, Kansas City and Frank Benezette, Strawsburg, Mo. The body was brought home Wednesday. At the time of going to press funeral arrangements had not been made. Consalus & Peck will be in charge of the funeral. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
