BURNFIN, Joe 1902 - 1991

Joe Burnfin, age 89, was born near Fristoe, on June 20, 1902, the son of John and 
Almeda Hunter Burnfin, and passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 1991 at 
the Hermitage Park Care Center where he had been a patient for the past five 
years. He grew up in the Fristoe community and in December of 1928 was united 
in marriage to Beatrice Antwiler. Following their marriage, they made their home 
on farms in both Benton and Hickory Counties. Unto this union one son, Herbert, 
was born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice, on July 7, 1967. He was 
also preceded in death by a daughter from a former marriage, Lucille Hough; two 
brothers, Paul and Charles, and two sisters, Alpha and Florence. He is survived by 
his son, Herbert, of Kansas City; one sister, Lucy Bybee of Wheatland; and a 
brother-in-law, George A. Wiseman, of Holden; several grandchildren, nieces, 
nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday 
afternoon, September 17, 1991 at Reser Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Stafford 
officiating. Burial was in Fristoe Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ron Burnfin, 
Charles McMillan, Roy Burnfin, Paul Wiseman, Joseph Wiseman and John Wiseman.
