BUTCHER OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BUTCHER, Leslie Mark 1928 - 1983 Mark Butcher was the son of Frank G. Butcher and Ora Patterson Butcher. He was born August 7, 1928, in Henry County, where he has lived all his life. He is survived by his wife, Betty; one son, Marion of the home; three daughters, Lola Cline of San Jose, CA; Lutie and Lois of the home; one brother, Frank Milton Butcher of Huntsville, MO; one uncle, Elmer Butcher, and one aunt, Mary Alyce Butcher, both from Clinton; one great aunt, Mary Jane Gray of Marshall. Funeral Services were held Thursday, December 1, 1983, at 2 p.m. at the Norris Methodist Church. The Rev Bryson officiated. Gene Consalus and Carolyn McQuitty sang How Great Thou Art and When the Morning Comes. Cena Dunn was at the organ. Pallbearers were Harold Ward, Larry Norcross, Cecil Gray, Jerry Jerome, David Thornley and Mile Glaspy. Burial was in Carpenter Cemetery, Chilhowee. BUTCHER, Mary Christina RICHARDSON 1903 - 1989 Mary Christina Richardson was born near Leeton, March 5, 1903, the daughter of Lucien C. Richardson and Willie C. Legg Richardson. She passed away at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital February 22, 1989, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 19 days. She was married to Elmer George Butcher November 18, 1926, and to this union four children were born, three of whom now survive, along with their father. They are daughters, Helen Marie St. John, Columbia, Marilyn Marion Almlie, Juno, Florida, and Edith Ann Elrod of Lee's Summit; also surviving are 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three sisters-in-law, Helen Richardson, Tulsa, Minnie Richardson, Slater, and Mary Alyce Butcher of Clinton. One son, Everett E. Butcher, preceded his mother in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by five brothers. Mary and Elmer lived and worked on their farm near Norris from the date of their marriage in 1926 until 1977 when they retired and moved to their present home, 204 North Craig, in Clinton. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clinton, the Clinton and Norris Garden Clubs, the Norris Extension Club for 50 years, the Poly Credo Club, the 20th Century Club, and the Republican Women's Club in Clinton. A tribute to Mary and her family was paid by the large group of friends that nearly filled the United Methodist Church in Clinton for her funeral service. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 25, at the United Methodist Church in Clinton, the Rev. Ronald E. Wood, Jr. officiating. Music included "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" and "How Great Thou Art"; Dick Fleming singing and Helen Shrout at the organ. Pallbearers were Craig, Clinton and Charles St. John and Steven, Scott and Stuart Butcher. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Gress, Herman Pomperien, Richard Williams, Joe Price, Glen Elrod, John Braun, C.M. Hood, Wallace Thompson, George Williams and Rufus Massey. Consalus Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
