CASEY OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== CASEY, Tom n/a - 1932 Tom Casey Died Wednesday, March 16 - Tom Casey, well known here among the old-timers died at the Folsom Prison in California, Wednesday, March 16th, 1932, at the age of 73. Tom Casey started as a young lawyer at Clinton and then went into the banking business with his father-in-law, George Y. Salmon in Clinton in 1896. In 1905 the crash of the old Salmon bank came. George M. Casey was known as the "cattle king of Missouri" and was the father of Tom and it was through trying to save his father by switching of accounts that sent young Tom to prison in 1906. Tom's father died in 1903. After getting out of prison in Missouri, Tom Casey went to Huntington Park, California, and started another Trust Company, and was making good, until old friends threatened to expose him if he did not pay them their losses of years ago, and it was in trying to pay these losses that caused him to again steal, and for which he was convicted and sentenced to Folsom Prison January 7, 1932.
