CHANCELLOR OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== CHANCELLOR, George Patrick 1909 - 1991 George Patrick Chancellor of Wheatland passed away early Tuesday morning, October 8, 1991, at the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola. He was born August 9, 1909, at Avery, the oldest child of Patrick N. Chancellor and Cora A. Breshears Chancellor. On March 10, 1934. he was united in marriage to Myrtle Elizabeth Woirhaye at Buffalo, Missouri, and to this union two children were born, Mary and Allen. In August 1936, George and Myrtle moved to the state of California where he worked at the General Motors Automotive Division. In 1944 he returned to their farm near Fristoe. In 1956 he moved to Warrensburg where he worked for the Central Missouri State University, later moving to Independence, where he worked for the Van Horn School until he retired. While living near Fristoe he had driven the R-IX bus a number of years. He moved to Wheatland in 1971. He was saved as a young man. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he was an active member. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Farrell. He Is survived by his wife Myrtle, of the home; his children, Allen Chancellor of Buckner and Mary Hawkins of Rayville; two sisters, Floy Christy of Bodfish, California, and Orah Faye Day of Weaubleau; eight grandchildren, Monte Scott of Independence, Sonya Sawyers of Flemington, Karen Sopher and Marilyn Scott of Grain Valley, Douglas Anderson of Great Lakes, Illinois, Anita Scott of Kansas City, Judith Chancellor of Warrensburg and Sheryl Spease of Rome, New York, and nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Hathaway-Peterman Chapel in Wheatland at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 1991, with Rev. T. E. (Short) Coffey officiating. Pallbearers were Loren Keightley, Monte Scott, John Klemm, Roy Lee Breshears, Alvin Ray Breshears, and Carl Lee Breshears. Music was provided by Lanny Smith.
