COE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== COE, Mildred Faye TOALSON 1911 - 1991 Mildred Faye Toalson Coe was born March 26, 1911, five and one half miles south of Urich on the family farm. her parents were Omer Allen and Nettie Jane Caldwell Toalson. She had one brother, Tilford Raymond Toalson, who preceded her in death in October, 1984. She attended Urich Elementary and High School and graduated in May, 1929. She attended Central Missouri State Teachers College for three years and then taught school at No. 8 school and Peach Grove in Cass County. She married John Moses Coe of Creighton on June 27, 1936. They made their home in the Washington, D.C. area where he worked for the Department of the Navy for twenty-eight years. After retirement they moved to Sarasota, Florida, where they lived until 1976 when they moved to Springfield, to be closer to family. John passed away in Springfield in 1980 and Mildred continued to live in Springfield until she had a stroke in 1986. She then moved to 211 South 3rd, Clinton. She passed away at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital October 19, 1991 at the age of 80 years. She was a devoted housewife and good neighbor, a perfectionist in all her activities, including housekeeping, cooking, entertaining, sewing, church activities, grooming and especially china painting. She belonged to china painting clubs and painted many items using beautiful pastels and using a painters stroke beyond compare. She and John had many friends wherever they lived. She was very active in church activities until her health failed and was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield. In Springfield she as John were active with the Meals on Wheels program and spent many hours delivering meals to shut-ins. She and John were loving companions and enjoyed traveling together. They had visited every state in the United States with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii. Survivors include four nieces, Roberta Jeanne Toalson Miller, Urich, Elnora Jordan, Neodesha, Kansas, Nettie Mouse, and husband, Wayne, Urich, and Kay Holt, Urich; ten great-nieces and nephews and seven great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 1991 at Consalus Chapel, Urich, with the Rev. Martha Ann Jones officiating. Pallbearers were Max Holt, Thomas Holt, Chris Mouse, Brian Mouse, Stephen Mouse, Kerry Bathgate.
