COLLINS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== COLLINS, Adam W. 1864 - 1885 Clinton MO, Nov 1885 - A cold blooded murder was committed at the Grand Central Hotel in Parsons, Kansas Monday morning. The victim was Adam W. Collins of Clinton and the murderer was George W. Gregson. Collins was a single man of about 25 and had lived in Parsons since last July, working as a clerk in a general merchandise store. The shooting followed an argument about some real estate property. The remains of the young man were dressed and shipped to his father in Clinton. Salmon and Salmon, bankers of this city, telegraphed the First National Bank of Parsons to have the body decently clad, placed in a plain coffin and forwarded here by express and to mail to them the bill. The remains were taken to the residence of T. C. Collins, the deceased's cousin, and on Tuesday a large number of friends assembled to witness the last sad rites of our unfortunate townsman. Dr. Moad officiated, after which the Knights of Pythias took charge of the body and the cortege solemnly moved to Oak Grove Cemetery, where he was quietly laid to rest. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
