COMBS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== COMBS, Cora B. n/a - 1982 Mrs. Cora B. Combs, 96, died Tuesday, Dec 7, 1982, at Golden Valley Hospital. She was from the Calhoun area. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Naomi Mosley of Clinton; a son-in-law, Bill Chick of Windsor; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Combs of Clinton; and grandchildren, etc. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Calhoun Methodist Church with burial in the Calhoun Cemetery. COMBS, E. J. 1887 - 1977 E. J. Combs, Bristow, Oklahoma, died May 4 at the age of 90. He had been ill and in a nursing home for the past ten months. A native of Calhoun and former resident of Brownington, Mr. Combs was born April 6, 1887 and lived in Henry County until 1939 when he moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma. Later, he and his wife moved to Bristow, where he has lived for the past 18 years. Surviviors include his wife, Lelia, of the home; four children and eight grandchildren. The children include a daughter Doris McGuire of Tulsa; sons, Jack of Fresno, California, James William of Bodega California, and Miles of Caldwell, Idaho. COMBS, L. A. 1876 - 1950 Clinton MO, Nov 9 1950 - Services Held for L. A. Combs - Funeral services for L. A. Combs were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 1950, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, with his sons, Rev. Woodson Combs and Uel W. Combs, officiating. Death came on Oct. 20, 1950, at 9:45 a.m. after an illness of a week with toxic poisoning. Mr. Combs was born Dec. 25, 1876, at Calhoun. For many years he was a resident of the Mt. Gilead neighborhood where he attended the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was recognized as an outstanding Bible student. Since 1917, he has been living in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where he was active until his death as a stockman and real estate dealer. In 1897, he and Miss Audrey Knoles were married in Clinton and the following children survive; Rev. Woodson Combs, Latham, Illinois; Uel W. Combs, Fruita, California; above mentioned, Lane and Miss Ruby Combs of the home. Other survivors include two brothers, Merrell Combs, Clinton and E. J. Combs, Shawnee, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie George, Calhoun, and Mrs. Willie Renser, Ft. Wayne, Ind., 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. L. H.
