DICKEY OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== DICKEY, Dorothy Marie n/a - 2000 Kansas City Star, Jul 16 2000 - Dorothy Marie Dickey, 75, Clinton, MO (formerly of Kansas City, MO), passed away July 14, 2000, at Research Belton Hospital, Belton, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Clinton; burial in Englewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Sunday at Vansant-Mills Chapel where prayer services will be 8 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church School Endowment Fund and may be left at the funeral home. (Arrangements: Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO) DICKEY, Fred Efton 1921 - 2000 Clinton Daily Democrat, Thurs, Jan 27 2000 - Fred Efton Dickey, Creighton, was born November 4, 1921, near Leesville, the son of Edgar Luther and Blanche E. (Smith) Dickey. He departed this life Friday, January 21, 2000, at his home near Creighton at the age of 78 years, two months and 17 days. On December 23, 1938 Fred was united in marriage to Pearl Ann Hart in Clinton. To this union six children were born. Fred was self-employed as a carpenter and contractor until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Creighton Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II, being drafted in 1945 and serving in Korea and the Philippines. Fred was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Freddie Dale Dickey, U.S. Navy on March 10, 1964; a granddaughter, Sarah Anne Wright on April 14 1973; his twin sister, fern Hays; three brothers, Herbert, Lloyd and Delmar; an infant brother, Elmer; two sisters, Pearl Henry and Pansy Gleason. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pearl Ann Dickey of the home; four sons, Jerry L. Dickey and his wife, Marty, Archie, Delmar Gene Dickey and his wife, Jackie, Largo, Florida, Jim Dickey and his wife, Lori, Wise, Florida, Richard Dickey and his wife, Beverly, Clinton; a daughter, Patricia Ann Wright and her husband, Don, Raymore; 10 grandchildren, Tim Dickey, Donald Dickey, Dennis Dickey, Dale Dickey, Chris Wright, Cheryl DeAngelo, Scott Dickey, Susie Szumigala, Erica Dickey and Leslie Dickey; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; other relatives and many friends. He will be sadly missed by many friends, neighbors and his loving family. Funeral services were Monday, January 24, 10 a.m., at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City. Rev. Marshall Dark and Rev. Vernon West officiated. Musical selections were "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Honorary pallbearers were Joe Szumigala and Chris Wright. Pallbearers were Rocky DeAngelo, Dennis Dickey, Scott Dickey, Dale Dickey, Donald Dickey and Tim Dickey.
