DOLL OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== DOLL, Clarence Arthur 1903 - 1992 Clarence Arthur Doll, son of Jacob Leonard and Leona Walsh Doll, was born December 19, 1903, in Bates County, and passed away September 14, 1992, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City. He was a life-long resident of Bates and Henry counties and was a farmer before he retired in 1982. He was married to Edith Chenoweth on March 14, 1929, and to this union three children were born, Edith preceded him in death on May 11, 1977. On October 28, 1984, he married Fern Corwine, who survives. He was a member of the White Oak Methodist Church, Urich. He is survived by his wife, Fern, of the home; one son, Maurice Doll, and wife, Betty, Euless, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Shirley) Henny, Urich, and Mrs. Marion (Irma) Woods, Warrensburg; four stepchildren, Norman Corwine, Colorado, Nason Corwine, Amsterdam, Naomi Kershner, Grain Valley, and Nina Hockett, Adrain; two brothers, Harry Doll and Arlie Doll, both of Urich; two sisters, Tillie Cordell, Clinton, and Mary Urich, Kansas City, as well as seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edith, and three sisters, Jannette Stewart, Leona Homan and Pearl Moree. Funeral serves were held at the White Oak Methodist Church Wednesday, September 16, 1992, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jan Schnepf officiating. In The Garden and I Know Who Holds Tomorrow were sung by David Mills and Esther Hargrave played the organ. Pallbearers were Steven Doll, Douglas Woods, Nelson Henny, Dan Garrett, Maurice Pilant and Walter Johnson, Jr. Burial was held at the White Oak Cemetery, Urich, under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton. DOLL, Edward Leroy 1908 - 1993 Edward Leroy Doll, son of John E. and Clara Belle (Mock) Doll, was born January 9, 1908, just east of the White Oak Church and passed away October 6, 1993 at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home in Clinton. He was 85 years old. On June 8, 1929, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Vannoster. They moved to a farm 6 miles southwest of Urich. After living there for seven years, they moved to the present farm. Edward enjoyed farming. Besides row crops he also raised lots of livestock. Edward was a member of the Lucas United Methodist Church, the Lucas Men's Club, also he was a board member of Mullin Cemetery Association. He was on the township and school boards, also active in many other community activities. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Donna and Joe Powers, Dixie and Kenneth Vogt, Deana and Don Borland; three sons, Delbert and Ima Jean Doll, Delton and Barbara Doll, Daniel and Judy Doll; one brother, Ralph Doll; fifteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Dallas, in 1982; two brothers, Max in 1983 and Elton in 1992. Edward was never too busy to help his friends and neighbors. He will be remembered by all who knew him. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, October 8, 1993 at Lucas United Methodist Church, with Rev. Barbara Bowser officiating. Music was One Day At A Time and How Great Thou Art with debra Zook, Darla Salmon, Darwin Doll, Cindy Doll, Darren Doll, vocalists, and Donna Borum, pianist. Pallbearers were Darwin Doll, Darren Doll, Doug Doll, John Warren, Tim Powers, Devin Doll. Honorary pallbearers were W. L. McDonald, John Kauffman, Ed Kedigh, Leonard Doll, Jim Wagner, Willis Brown. Burial was in the Mullin Cemetery. DOLL, Harry Lee 1901 - 1993 Harry Lee Doll was born August 25, 1901 south of Urich in Henry County, the son of Jacob L. and Leona (Walsh) Doll. He passed away April 10, 1993 at his home, Route 2, Urich, at the age of 91. Harry was one of eight children. He attended school at Butler and Lucas. He was baptized at Cove Creek Baptist Church and later moved his membership to Lucas Methodist Church. Harry was married to Mabel C. Dennis on December 24, 1922, and to this union seven children were born. He was a farmer all of his life. In addition to farming he frequently worked as a carpenter. Harry loved to fish and work in his garden. Later in life, he took pleasure in having time to enjoy all of his family, especially the little ones. Harry is survived by two sons, Derrold L. Doll and Dennis L. Doll, both of Urich; three daughters, Margie Hopper, Kansas City, Betty Jean Jones, Independence, and Karen K. Kerrick, Pensacola, Fl.; one brother, Arlie Doll, Urich; two sisters, Tillie Cordell, Clinton, and Mary Urick, Kansas City; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty- two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; also a host of other relatives survive. He was preceded in death by his wife Mabel, December 1, 1983; two daughters, Maxine Limbaugh and Mary Jane Empson; one brother, Clarence Doll; three sisters, Jeanette Stewart, Leona Homan and Pearl Moree. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 1993 at Lucas Methodist Church, with Rev. Jan Schnepf officiating. Music was When the Roll is Called Up Yonder, I Thought He Walked On Water, Daddy's Hands, Lucile Long, pianist. Pallbearers were George Allen Limbaugh, Mike Costigan, David K. Doll, Phillip K. Hooper, Kenneth Jones, Kevin Empson. Honorary pallbearers were Douglas Hooper, Craig Alan Doll, Mark Limbaugh, Scott Empson. Burial was in Mullin Cemetery, Henry County, under direction of Consalus Funeral Home, Urich. DOLL, Mary Virginia GRIMES 1927 - 1997 Mary Virginia Doll died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at Saint Joseph Health Center in Kansas City at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 22 days. She was born March 19, 1927, in Clinton, the daughter of Clifford Orville Grimes, Sr. and Grace B. Shepard Grimes. She was a lifelong resident of this area. On April 29, 1944, in Olathe, Kansas, she married Lee Earnie Doll. Mrs. Doll worked for 10 years at Mary Jane's Fabrics in Clinton. She was also a volunteer at the golden Valley Memorial Hospital and a member of the United Methodist Church of Clinton. She is survived by her husband, Lee Earnie of the home; two daughters, Margaret Smith and husband, Gary, and Vicki Sims and husband, Roger, all of Urich; four grandchildren, Angela Smith, Chris Sims, Clifford Sims and Cora Jean Trinkle; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Dale Sims, Jr., Nicole Sims, Ginny Smith, Zack Smith and Shelby Trinkle. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, at the United Methodist Church in Clinton with Dr. David Maggi officiating. Dorothy Steward sang "In The Garden" and "Take My Hand, Precious Lord". Organist was Sam Lucas. Pallbearers were Curt Schliem, Dale Dunn, Dennis Winkler, John Imler, Howard Abney and Richard Grasty. Burial was in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of the Consalus Funeral Home, Clinton. DOLL, Nina Mae GROSSHART 1911 - 1997 Mrs. Nina Mae Doll of Warsaw was born July 14, 1911, near Creighton, the daughter of Samuel Jackson and Lona Mae (Bonar) Grosshart. She died Monday, June 16, 1997, at the Lincoln Nursing Home at the age of 85 years, 11 months and two days. Nina owned and operated the Lucas Store in the Lucas community near Urich from 1946 until 1955. She was a member of the Cove Creek Christian Church near Urich. Nina had lived near Urich, before moving to Lee's Summit in 1955, to Clinton in 1990 and then to Lincoln in 1995. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Raymond Kent Doll; three brothers Orva, Clifford and Charles Grosshart; one sister, Gladys Grosshart. She is survived by a daughter, Ruby Louise Wiskur and her husband, Kenneth, Warsaw; four step- grandchildren, Shelby, Colby, Pearl and Luke; two step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 18, 1 p.m. at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City. Rev. John Kukovich officiated. Musical selections were "No Night There" and "Where We'll Never Grow Old". Pallbearers were Don Borland, David E. Bonar, Glenn Bonar, Junior Grosshart, Kenneth Vogt and Shelby Wiskur.
