FORDERHASE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== FORDERHASE, Earl August Dr. Rev. n/a - 1992 Dr. Earl August Forderhase, 84, former Clinton pastor, died November 3, 1992, in Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, Ky., following open heart surgery. A resident of 415 Falls Street, London, Ky. 40741, Dr. Forderhase was a Southern Baptist minister of 63 years. He was ordained to the ministry on September 29, 1929, in Browning, Missouri, the same day he married Goldie P. Barnes of Missouri. Longtime Missouri natives, Dr. and Mrs. Forderhase lived in various Missouri towns where he served as pastor, including Keytesville, Hardin, Odessa, DeSoto, Clinton, St. Joseph and St. Louis. In St. Louis, he was pastor of Euclid Baptist Church on Kingshighway until the congregation moved to the county to merge with Edmondson Road Baptist Church. During his pastorate, an entire new church facility was built on Edmondson Road. Dr. Forderhase retired in 1972 from the Edmondson Road Church pastorate and moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, where, over the years, he served as pastor to tow Tennessee Baptist churches, and did interim and supply preaching in Tennessee and Western Kentucky. during his years as a pastor in Missouri, he served on the board of Missouri Baptist Hospital and on a number of Southern Baptist boards and committees on local, associational and state levels. His undergraduate work was completed at William Jewell College in 1932; the Bachelor of Divinity and Dr. of Theology degrees were earned at Central Seminary, Kansas City, Kansas. The memorial service was conducted November 6, 1992, at First Baptist Church, London, Kentucky, followed by burial at A. R. Dyche Memorial Park, London, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Goldie, of London, Ky., and Dwight Forderhase, minister in Lancaster, Ky.; a brother, V. F. "Pete" Forderhase of Arlington, Texas, and five grandchildren. FORDERHASE, Earl Duane Dr. Rev. 1934 - 1994 Funeral services were held Thursday, November 3, 1994, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, Kentucky, for the Rev. Earl Duane Forderhase, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, London. He suffered a fatal heart attack at his home in London on November 1, 1994, at the age of 60. Dr. Forderhase was born February 18, 1934, in Keytesville, Missouri, to the Rev. Dr. Earl August Forderhase and Goldie Barnes Forderhase. His father, a Baptist minister, had served pastorates in Baptist churches throughout Missouri between 1929 and 1972, as was pastor of First Baptist Church, Clinton, from 1953 to 1957. Dr. Duane, like his minister father, was a graduate of William Jewell College, Liberty; his father was co- captain of the Cardinal football squad in 1928-1929. Dr. Duane had also attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar. His parents preceded him in death: Dr. Earl Forderhase November 3, 1992, Goldie Forderhase January 30, 1994. Duane Forderhase served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church, London, for three years. He had also served on a number of boards of benevolent organizations, private schools, and of Seton Home Health Service, Inc., and Tri-County Hospice, all in the London area. He was also a pastoral counselor for Tri-County Hospice. He had a long and distinguished career both as minister and educator. Having received his M.A. degree in history and his Ph.D. degree in Philosophy from the University of Oklahoma, he taught philosophy and religion at the University of Oklahoma; Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa; and Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, for 18 years. There, he also served as chairman of the Department of Philosophy. During that period he served both Baptist and Presbyterian churches in and around Fairfield, Iowa; in the communities of Marietta, Lindsay, Norman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in Clarksville, Tennessee and surrounding areas, including the Western Kentucky towns of Hopkinsville and Pembroke. In addition to William Jewell College, he was a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. During his Seminary years (1956-59) he served either as associate pastor or as pastor of several churches in Texas and Southeastern Oklahoma. Dr. Forderhase is survived by his wife, Carol, of London; a son, Gregory Duane, an attorney in Knoxville, Tennessee; his daughter, Alison Petre, of Knoxville, TN; and one brother, the Rev. Dwight Forderhase, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, Kentucky. Interment was in A. R. Dyche Memorial Park, London, KY. FORDERHASE, Goldie Faye BARNES 1909 - 1994 Goldie Faye Barnes Forderhase, 84, 415 Falls Street, London, Kentucky, died Saturday, January 30, 1994, at Marymount Medical Center in London. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 1, at 2 p.m. at House-Rawlings Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Lester of First Baptist Church, London, officiating. Burial was in the A. R. Dyche Memorial Park, London. She was a member of First Baptist Church, London. Born February 2, 1909 in Corder, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lola (Linn) Barnes. She was the widow of the late Dr. Earl August Forderhase who served Southern Baptist churches in Missouri and Tennessee for more than 63 years. Dr. Forderhase was pastor of First Baptist Church, Clinton, from 1953 to 1957. Mrs. Forderhase was a homemaker and devoted church worker as she served with her husband in their various pastorates. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Duane Forderhase, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, London, Ky., and the Rev.
