FULKERSON, P. W. 1824 - 1886

The Clinton Eye Aug 1886 - Passed Over - Saturday morning, August 21, at 10 
o'clock, the spirit of P. W Fulkerson, after long years of suffering, passed over to 
its Maker and is at rest. He was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, in 1824. Came to 
this state in the fall of 1855 and located in Cass County, where he lived until the 
war broke out and in 1861 joined the Confederate Army, serving through the war 
as Captain. After the war, he came to Clinton where he has made his home ever 
since. He has for the past eight years been afflicted with cancer of the face, and 
every known remedy was tried. For four years the Eureka Springs waters were 
tested, but to no avail and the last two years he has been confined to his home, 
suffering intensely at times, until the Great Redeemer called him home. He 
leaves a wife, a companion who has watched and tenderly cared for him through 
all these years of sad afflictions, to mourn his loss, and in her bereavement, the 
community extends its sympathy. After the sermon at 3:30 at the Southern M.E. 
Church, the remains were taken charge of by the Masons and conveyed to Oak 
Grove for interment.
