GARRISON OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== GARRISON, Joseph Cleveland 1885 - 1953 Henry County Democrat, Sep 10 1953 - Garrison Rites Held Saturday - Funeral services for Joseph Cleveland Garrison were held at the Urich Baptist Church at 2:30 p. m. September 5th, with Rev. Paul Graf of Urich officiating. Mrs. F. N. Erwin sang "In The Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Burris Carter at the piano. Pallbearers were Harry Mosser, Oren Henny, Harold Gragg, Buford Vogt, Tommy Elliott and Kenneth Vogt. Burial was in the Urich Cemetery, Brown and Graham Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements. - Joseph Cleveland Garrison, fourth child of Robert A. and Susan Shelton Garrison was born April 18, 1885 in Cooke County, Tenn. Departed this life at 11:30 a. m. Sept. 3, 1953. Except for a few short years he had lived in Henry County, coming to Urich with his step-mother, Mrs. Mary Garrison in 1923. He united with the Hickory Grove Baptist church at an early age, and retained his membership there until the church disbanded several years ago. Mr. Garrison was united in marriage to Lulu Mae Overbey and to this union one daughter was born Reppie Joe. He leaves to mourn his passing besides the wife and daughter, three sisters, Mrs. Ida McIntire of Blairstown, Mo., Mrs. Edith Immer of Clinton, Mrs. Bertha Ridge, Modesto, Calif., two brothers, Robt. L. of Holden, Mo., and Harry E. of Adrian, Mo., son-in- law, Chas. L. Goodman of Kansas City, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Mr. Garrison enjoyed the friendship of a wide circle of friends. He was a kind husband and father, who loved his home and in which he found his greatest pleasure and contentment. GARRISON, Mary Elizebeth WILLING 1862 - 1934 The spirit of Mary Elizebeth Garrison departed it`s earthly tabernacle Sunday night, April 15, 1934, from her home in Urich, Mo. She had been in frail health from kidney trouble and complications for about a year. On Tuesday before her death she became critically ill and suffered intensely until the summons came. All her children were with her during the last few days. Mrs. Garrison`s maiden name was Mary Elizebeth Willing. She was born near Morristown Tennessee, April 4, 1862. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Garrison, Oct. 24, 1888, after which they came to Missouri and she has been a resident of this state ever since. For a number she resided in the Huntingdale neighborhood. Four children blessed this union, two daughters and two sons. She was also a real mother to the four children of the husband by a previous marriage. Her husband preceded her in death fourteen years ago. She leaves to grieve for her, three children, Mrs. Geo. Ridge of near Archie, Mo.; Mrs. Homer Immer, north of Clinton, Mo. and Harry Garrison of Kansas City, Mo. One son, David, died in camp during the World War. She also leaves three step-children - Mrs. Omer McIntire of Norris, Mo., Bob Garrison near Huntingdale, Mo., and Joe Garrison, near the home in Urich, Mo. One step-son, Charley Garrison, died several years ago. There are thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A brother, Coughy Willing, of Florida, and a sister, Mrs. Mattie Jones, of West Virginia, also survive, Funeral services were held at the Baptist church at 12 o`clock Tuesday, conducted by Rev. J. E. Jackson of buffalo, Mo. a former pastor. The body was taken to the Paul cemetery, near Huntingdale, Mo, for burial. Grandsons acted as pallbearers and were: Bob McIntire, Leo and Jake Immer, Clyde Palmer, Jim Hargrave and Harold Jordon.
