GILDERSLEEVE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== GILDERSLEEVE, Sadie Georgia ELDER 1881 - 1969 Sadie Elder Gildersleeve was born April 15, 1881, in a log cabin on the home place east of Shawnee Mound where she lived her entire life. She was the youngest of three children born to James and Elizabeth Elder. A brother, Markey Elder and a sister, Mrs. George Crook, preceded her in death. She expired March 24, 1969, at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital, after a two month stay. On Nov 23, 1904, she was united in marriage to Frank Gildersleeve, and they lived together 64 years. They were the parents of three daughters. She is survived by her husband, Frank of the home; the three daughters, Mrs. Stella Callen and Mrs. Dorothy Thomas, both of Warrensburg, and Mrs. Elaine Frasher of near Chilhowee. Funeral services were March 27 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Englewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were a nephew, Charles Crooks; and grandsons: Harlan Callen, Major Kenneth Callen, Charles Des Combes, Bill Des Combes, Jim Frasher. GILDERSLEEVE, Thelma F. CALLEN 1897 - 1973 Thelma F. Gildersleeve died Jan 31, 1973, aged 75. She was born November 1, 1897, in Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Callen. She lived in the Shawnee Mound area. She married Lee Gildersleeve in 1922. He died April 15, 1946. She was a member of the Shawnee Presbyterian Church and later was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. H. R. Lyle, Jr., Clinton; one sister, Mrs. Louise M. Wade, Shawnee Mound, and one brother, Edgar F. Callen, Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Delbert J. Callen.
