GUYNN, Emmett Kistler Sr. Dr. 1893 - 1966

Funeral services for Dr. E. K. Guynn, 72, of 900 S. Second St., prominent retired 
Clinton optometrist, who died May 24, 1966, at Clinton General Hospital, were 
conducted at 2:30 p.m. May 26, at the Clinton Methodist Church. Burial was in 
Englewood Cemetery. Dr. Guynn was born in and grew up in Montrose and 
graduated from high school there, after which he attended optical school in 
Kansas City. After graduation he took the State Board examination in Oklahoma 
and was licensed to practice in Oklahoma, Colorado, and Missouri. He practiced in 
the two former states for a time before opening an office in Clinton in 1922. He 
continued his practice here, enjoying a fine patronage until his retirement in 
1964.
