HARGRAVE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HARGRAVE, Frank 1881 - 1961 Frank Hargrave Rites, 2:00 P.M. Today. Frank Hargrave, 79, of 310 East Franklin St., Clinton, in ill health since last fall, died Tuesday afternoon, April 18, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. April 20, at Schaberg Funeral Home with the Rev. S. Richard Wallis officiating. Miss Sarah Margaret Gilbert will accompany vocalists, Mrs. John Simmons and Mrs. Johnson VanWinkle. Pallbearers will be a friend, Ralph Gates, the sons, Lawrence, Frederick, Marion, and Harper Hargrave and son-in-law, Cecil Barger. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery. Frank Hargrave was born Oct. 19, 1881, at Lewis Station in Henry County, one of five children of John Franklin and Margaret Wiley Hargrave. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He grew to manhood in the community and on Dec. 28, 1904, he married Helen Goff to which union seven children were born. They established their home in the Lewis vicinity where Mr. Hargrave farmed. His great love for horse flesh eventually led him to become a horse trainer which work he followed many years. For the past number of years he had been retired. He was a member of the Clinton First Baptist Church. Mr. Hargrave held a deep interest in his family and home. He was quiet, modest and unassuming and enjoyed the many friends he made. Besides his wife he leaves five sons, Lawrence, photographer - photo-engraver for the Clinton Eye, Frederick, Butler, Marion, Lemon Grove, Calif., Marshall, Boone, N.C., Harper, co- owner of Gay Cleaners; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Barger, St. Louis, Miss Laura, Bessermer, Ala; eight grandchildren: many other relatives and friends. HARGRAVE, James Robert 1930 - 1984 James Robert Hargrave, 54, Buckner, died Monday, 6 August 1984, at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City. He was born in Urich, son of James and Margaret Hargrave. He was an antique dealer in Buckner. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Central Missouri State College in 1959. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Margaret Hargrave; his wife, Sue Hargrave, of the home; two sons, Ronald of Belton and Rodney of Clinton; a daughter, Mrs. Ronda White of Windsor; one brother, Orval Hargrave of El Dorado Springs; two sisters, Lois Jean Hutson of Peculiar and Ida Louise Wilson of Lincoln; four grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a. m. Thursday at the Rettert- Brown Funeral Home in Buckner. Graveside services will be at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton at approximately 1 p.m. Thursday. HARGRAVE, Margaret J. WILEY 1844 - 1908 Clinton, MO Aug 8 1908 - Mrs. John F. Hargrave died at her home one mile southeast of Lewis Station early Monday morning, August 3. She had been ill with malarial fever about three weeks and was supposed to be better but when the daughter-in-law brought her breakfast at 5:30a.m. she found her still in death. Her maiden name was Miss Margaret Wiley and she was born Oct. 4, 1844 one- quarter of a mile from where she died. She married Mr. Hargrave March 14, 1868. Five children, two daughters now deceased. The young son, Frank, with his wife, resides at home. Arthur lives in Nevada and Harve at Barnard. She had been a Presbyterian since 1897. Burial at Drake's Chapel.
