HART OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HART, Frank M. 1856 - 1938 (October 1938) Frank M. Hart, citizen of Clinton since 1901, reached the end of life's highway at 4:00 p. m., Wednesday, October 5, at the Clinton General hospital, where he had been taken Sunday after a brief illness. Life ebbed away just at the hour he usually quit his daily work, with his beloved wife and Rev. A. N. Lindsay beside him, amid peace and quiet, just as he had lived. Frank Marion Hart was born September 9, 1856, near Washington. Franklin County, Mo., where he was educated. Mr. Hart came to Deepwater, in 1891, where he was engaged in the livery stable business, important industry two decades ago. Two years later, 1893, he and Miss Callie Payton, whose father was a leading merchant of Deepwater, were married and for some years continued their residence there. In 1901 they moved to Clinton as Mr. Hart had been made Deputy County Clerk, which office he held the next four years. He then was elected City Assessor on the Democratic ticket, holding that office estimably eight years. Since retirement from office he had served as M. K. & T. crossing watchman, having been stationed his last years in the tower at the Cozart crossing, Franklin street. He retired from the railroad September 15 on a pension. For 17 years he made his home at 218 West Green street. a quiet, conscientious man who found fault with no one, lived for his work and his home where he spent otherwise unoccupied hours, reading. He is survived by his widow, a brother, John, and nephew, Gene Hart, of Seneca, Kans.; also a cousin, Miss Clara Hart, of Clinton, who was reared as his sister by his parents. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. N. Lindsay at 2:00 p. m Friday at the Christian Church. The pallbearers were: Henry Westerman, E. N. McDowell, Judge C. C. Jones, Jas. B. Marks, Clay Adair and Dr. C. L.
