HARVEY OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HARVEY, Dorthamae AGEE 1914 - 1992 Mrs. Dorthamae Harvey, 78, Windsor, died Monday morning, October 19, 1992 at her home there. She was born February 25, 1914 in Etterville, Mo., the daughter of James Warren Agee and Dora Ethel Ritchie Agee. On September 2, 1936, in Windsor, she married Loyd G. Harvey, who preceded her in death November 10, 1981. Mrs. Harvey worked for the Windsor Review as a secretary from 1948 until 1952; she then worked for Windsor School system as secretary to the superintendent and school board from 1952 to 1967. She then joined her husband at the Gambles Hardware store in Windsor and worked there until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Windsor. Survivors include a daughter, Mallory Kelley, San Jose, Ca.; two grandchildren, Robert Houston and Janet Willis; a great-granddaughter Jaime Lynne Willis; 2 brothers, Cecil Agee, Windsor, and Earl Agee, Sacramento, Ca. Funeral services were Thursday, October 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. James E. West officiating and Rev. John Stewart assisting. Burial was in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family suggests any contributions to the Laurel Oak Cemetery or the Windsor First Christian Church in care of Hadley Funeral Home. HARVEY, Edgar Loyd 1867 - 1938 Edgar Loyd Harvey was born January 15, 1867 in Cooper County, Missouri. He passed away at his home May 16, 1938, being 71 years, 4 months, and 1 day. He was the eldest son of James A. and Sarah Ann (Nicholson) Harvey. He was married to Minerva Griggs, and last December 7, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. To the union five children were born: Mrs. Kathryn Miller, Appleton City, MO.; Mrs. Myrtle Van Hoozer and Loyd Harvey of Windsor, Ivan Harvey of near Windsor and Ethel of the home. He was converted under the influence and preaching of Rev. J.S. Denton some thirty-five years ago, and united with the Harmony Baptist Church. He has lived a faithful and consistent member. He has served as a deacon of this church and a teacher of the Men's Bible Class for several years. His entire life has been spent in this community. He lived on a farm a number of years and in 1917 purchased the store at Fort Lyon. In this work he enjoyed the association of numerous neighbors and friends. Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his passing, one sister, Mrs. Anna Dee Lynch, Lincoln, Mo.; a brother, Dr. F. L. Harvey, Arlington, Texas, and six grandchildren, Randall, Arlene and Dorothy Harvey, Robert Miller, Carl Harvey and John Van Hoozer. Also a host of relatives and friends. He was a good Christian man, a leader in his community, a friend to all and a devoted husband and father to his family. Funeral services were held at Harmony Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 9:30 o'clock with Rev. Hugh Speery in charge, assisted to Rev. Russell of Bolivar. Wm. Dundas, Lee Suhl, John Robinson and Ralph Gray sang three songs accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Dundas. Mrs. Tom Vannatta, Mrs. Elberne Thomas, Mrs. Geo. Christian and Miss Elizabeth Barrow were in charge of the flowers. Pallbearers were Allen Brown, L. B. Gray, Homer Webb, C.J. Fridley, Albert Bumpas and W.S. Thomas. Interment was in Harmony cemetery. HARVEY, Ellen F. 1927 - 2000 Kansas City Star, Jan 11 2000 - Ellen F. Harvey, 72, of Kansas City, Mo, died January 9, 2000, at her home. Funeral services will be 1 pm, Wednesday, January 12, at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Longview Funeral Home. Interment at Longview Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 11, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice. Miss Harvey was born on November 12, 1927, in Brownington, MO. She was supervisor of the Policy Owners Relations Dept. at Business Men's Assurance Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Colonial Presbyterian Church, and had served as a volunteer at Baptist Medical Center for eight years. She was preceded in death by brothers, Millard Harvey, Waldo Harvey and Charles Harvey. She is survived by sisters, Audra Oglesby, Independence, MO; Grace Harrelson, Kansas City, MO; Elizabeth Serafini, Cleveland, OH; brothers, William Harvey, Peculiar, MO; and Robert Harvey, Kansas City, MO; 11 nephews; and six nieces. (Arrangements by: D. W. Newcomer's Sons Longview Funeral Home) HARVEY, Minerva Alice GRIGGS 1869 - 1959 Funeral services for Mrs. E.L. Harvey, 90, were held Friday afternoon at the Huston Funeral Home here. Burial was in the Harmony Cemetery. Mrs. Harvey died at her home here following an illness of several years. She had been bedfast for the past four years. Rev. George Gray, pastor of the Lexington Baptist church, was in charge of the services. Mrs. Walter Chipman and Mrs. Clark Henry sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," accompanied by Mrs. Belford Jackson. Pallbearers were: Bernis Garland, Jim McAllister, Howard Harvey, Randall Harvey, Ivan Adair and Lynn Adair. Minerva Alice Griggs Harvey was born January 4, 1869 near the Ft. Lyon community, the daughter of John and Catharine (Wiley) Griggs. She was married to Edgar Loyd Harvey Dec. 7, 1887 at the home of her parents. The couple resided in the Ft. Lyon community until his death May 16, 1938 when Mrs. Harvey moved into Windsor. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey were the parents of five children: Mrs. Kathryn Miller, Kansas City; Mrs. Myrtle VanHoozer, Mrs. Ethel Goff and Ivan and Loyd Harvey, all of Windsor. She united with the Harmony Baptist church at an early age, later moving her membership to the First Baptist church here.
