HENNING OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HENNING, James A. 1921 - 1942 Dec 1942 - Killed in WW II in an airplane crash while in the U.S. Corps - Fliers Die In Utah Crash - Among Eight Killed are Kansas City and Oregon, MO. Youths - Eight men were killed in the crash of a heavy bomber on the salt flats six miles southwest of Wendover Army Air Base in Utah Thursday, an Associated Press dispatch said last night. One man from Kansas City was listed among the fatalities. He was Serg. James A. Henning, 21, son of Mrs. Florance Henning, 2319 Monroe Avenue. He served as a gunner on the plane. His mother arrived at the field to spend the holidays with Sergeant Henning just one day before he was killed. Sergeant Henning attended East High School. He entered the service last January. His mother was the former Florance Julian, of Clinton, MO. Another Missouri man reported killed in the plane crash was Lieut. Earl F. Saucer, husband of Mrs. Fern K.
