HETHERINGTON OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HETHERINGTON, Mary Lucille MOORE 1915 - 1984 Mary Lucille Hetherington, 68, of Huntingdale, passed away on Friday, February 17, 1984, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. She was born April 14, 1915. She was the daughter of Cora and Thomas Moore. She had lived her entire lifetime in Henry County. On December 14, 1927, she was married to Ralph E. Hetherington. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive: Ralph Jr., Richard, Leroy, Jim, Mrs. Bob (Nina) Reese, and Mrs. Bruce (Lynda) Robertson, and Mrs. Wayne (Sandra) Carter. Also surviving is her husband, Ralph, of the home. Preceding her in death were a son, William Roger, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Hetherington was a faithful member of the Corinth Baptist Church. She had served as Democratic Committeewoman for Shawnee Township for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a good neighbor to all those who needed her help. Funeral services were February 19, at Corinth Baptist Church with interment in the Paul Cemetery near Huntingdale. Pallbearers were grandsons. HETHERINGTON, Paul n/a - n/a Paul Hetherington, 80, South 8th St., Clinton, died October 17, at St. Luke's Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Beulah; one son, Harold; a daughter, Shirley Long; two brothers, Fred of Clinton and Ralph, of Huntingdale; two sisters, Verna Montgomery of Clinton and Jeanette Westfall of Gladstone. Funeral services will be at Consalus Chapel with burial in the Paul Cemetery near Huntingdale. HETHERINGTON, Ralph Earl Jr. 1930 - 1992 Ralph Earl Hetherington Jr., was born Nov 7, 1930 at Huntingdale, the son of Ralph E. Hetherington Sr. and Mary Lucille Moore Hetherington. He departed this life January 14, 1992, at Raymore Health Care, Raymore, MO, at the age of 61 years. Ralph was raised in Huntingdale and attended Norris High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1949. On June 30, 1951, Ralph was united in marriage with Dorothy Mae Lewis. Ralph lived in Clinton before moving to Peculiar in 1968. He had worked at Walker Motor Co and Hickman's Conoco in Clinton. He was a member of the Christian Church in Clinton until moving his membership to Harrisonville where he served as a deacon for several years before becoming ill. He retired from Sears Roebuck and Co with 17 years of service as a service technician in 1981, when the company closed the Archie Service Center. He later owned and operated Hetherington Appliance Repair in Peculiar from 1981 until his retirement in 1985. He had served as an alderman for the city of Peculiar in the early 1970's. Ralph enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. As a young man he enjoyed square dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, William Roger. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; one son, Larry D. of Harrisonville; one daughter, Mary S. Hetherington, Peculiar; three grandsons, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were January 17, 1992 at Dickey Chapel, Harrisonville, with burial in the Peculiar Cemetery. HETHERINGTON, Ralph Earl Sr. 1907 - 1985 Ralph (Dutch) Earl Hetherington, age 77, of Huntingdale passed away on Saturday, Feb 23, 1985, at the home. Dutch Hetherington was born March 15, 1907, in Blackhawk County, Iowa. He was the son of Thomas Fred and Sarah Isabell Richards Hetherington. On Dec 14, 1929, he was united in marriage to Mary Lucille Moore. To this union eight children were born. Seven survive: Ralph Jr., Richard, Leroy, Jim, Nina Reese, Lynda Robertson, Sandra Carter. A brother, Fred and two sisters, Verna Montgomery and Janet Westfall. Preceding him in death were his wife, Lucille, a son, William Roger, his parents, three brothers and one sister. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and had retired from his own business, Hetherington Custom Butchering. Funeral services were Feb 26, at Corinth Baptist Church, with interment in Paul Cemetery at Huntingdale. Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law. HETHERINGTON, William Roger 1939 - 1952 William Roger Hetherington died 31 July 1952 as the result of a tractor accident. He was born 7 October 1939 to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Hetherington, Clinton. Vansant Funeral Home was in charge of the services that were held at Corinth Baptist Church on 2 August 1952. Pallbearers were Bobby Hodges, Jim Paul, Jim Groff, Jim Southers, Billy Stoneking and Dale Sell.
