HIGHLAND OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HIGHLAND, Frances Camella HAMPTON SPARKS 1904 - 1995 Frances Camella Highland, 91, Warrensburg, died Sunday, June 25, 1995, at the Ridge Crest Nursing Center in Warrensburg. She was born May 31, 1904, in Johnson County, the daughter of Mary Frances Elizabeth Shore Hampton and William Silas Hampton. She was a graduate of Tipton High School and attended the Warrensburg Normal School for a short time. On Aug 25, 1930, in Kingsville, she married Basil Ray Sparks. He preceded her in death Oct 4, 1951. On April 3, 1954, she married Dr. Samuel E. Highland, who also preceded her in death. They lived in Warrensburg and southern Missouri and Clinton before returning to Warrensburg in 1994. Mrs. Highland worked for Southwestern Bell in Centerview and Warrensburg and was chief operator of telephone communications at Whiteman Air Force Base. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a former member of Eastern Star. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Ladorna Rich, Warrensburg; and Celesta Highland, Edwards; and one great-niece. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 2 p. m., Sunday, July 2, at the RLDS Church in Warrensburg. Consalus Funeral Home of Clinton is in charge of arrangements. HIGHLAND, Samuel Elmer Dr. 1898 - 1994 Dr. Samuel Elmer Highland, D. C., 96, Warrensburg, died Friday, November 11, 1994, at the Ridge Crest Nursing Center in Warrensburg. A memorial service will be held at 2 p. m. November 20, at the RLDS Church in Warrensburg. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Autumn Court Alzheimer's Unit at Ridge Crest, 706 S. Mitchell St., Warrensburg. The contributions will go toward establishing an atrium fund for the unit. Consalus Funeral Home in Clinton, is in charge of arrangements. Cremation. Dr. Highland was born July 13, 1898, in Chadwick, to Inez Lyons Highland and Samuel McKesson Highland and was the third of four brothers, three of whom are deceased, and one sister, also deceased. He attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA, and graduated from Western Chiropractic College in Kansas City in 1929. He practiced chiropractic in Warrensburg until his retirement in 1969, at which time he moved to southern Missouri near his place of birth. In 1990, he moved to Clinton and to Warrensburg in April of 1994. While practicing his profession, he had also been involved in farming and the raising of livestock. In April of 1954 he married Frances C. Sparks, who survives at the home; two daughters, Ladorna M. Rich, Warrensburg, and Celesta Highland, Edwards; one brother, Harry L.
