HILLEGAS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HILLEGAS, Joseph 1812 - 1886 Clinton MO Feb 1886 - Died, in East Osage township, January 30, 1886, Judge Joseph Hillegas, aged 73 years, 7 months and 19 days. Judge Hillegas was one of the earliest settlers of this section, having come to Henry County in the fall of '56. He entered and purchased some 600 acres of land, improving about 300 acres and which he resided at the time of his death. Judge Hillegas has been a man of considerable wealth and influence, having been appointed one of the county judges in 1865, he was afterward elected and served six years in succession in that capacity. He was an influential member of the M. E. Church. A bereaved wife, four sons and two daughters, mourn his loss. After the funeral, his remains were interred in the Mt.
