HOUK OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HOUK, Otto 1904 - 1995 Otto Houk, 91, Clinton, died Tuesday, September 5, 1995, at the Meadowbrook Manor of Clinton. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 8, in the Parks Chapel Cemetery, southeast of Clinton. Mr. Houk will lie in state from noon until 5 p.m., Thursday, September 7, at the Consalus Funeral Home, Clinton. Mr. Houk was born August 10, 1904, in Henry County, the son of A. J. and Sarah Houk. He was a farmer for a number of years. He is survived by a daughter, Peggy Christopher, Longmont, Colorado. Among grandchildren are Stacey Severson and Debra Parvin, both of Kansas City, and a number of great-grandchildren. Mr. Houk was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Hicks, on July 5, 1994. (NOTE: His parents were Albert Lee and Laura Halsey Houk - A. J. and Sarah were probably his grandparents) HOUK, William M. 1853 - 1922 William M. Houk, son of Andy and Mary Houk, was born in Moniteau county, near California, the county seat. When a small boy his parents came to Henry county and settled on a farm near Good Hope church. He was married to Miss Ellen Foster, Oct., 1879. He was a member of the Baptist church. He was a kind husband, father and neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand. Uncle Bill, as he was called, had been in poor health for two years with asthma and heart trouble. He died January 22, 1922. He leaves his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Robert Parks, and four grandchildren, Ural, Loyd, Herschel and Edwin Parks; one sister; Mrs. M. M. Mathews, of Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers - J. D. Houk, near Coal; E. R. Houk, Chico, Calif., and George Houk, of Deepwater. Funeral services were conducted at Parks Chapel by Rev.
