HUDGENS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HUDGENS, Anna Viola JENKINS 1909 - 1991 Anna Viola Jenkins was born October 4, 1909, in Clinton, the daughter of Pearl and Luther Jenkins. She passed away at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton July 22, 1991, following a stroke. She was raised on a farm in the Garland and Clinton areas and continued living in this area all her life. On April 4, 1929, she was married to Hughlen Theodore Hudgens and to this union three children were born, two of whom now survive, Aleatrice Dionne and Iris Darlene. One son, David Luther, died in infancy. She was a nurse nearly all her working life. She was employed by the Old Stebbins Hospital before her marriage. Then following the death of her husband, she again returned to nursing at the Clinton General and Wetzel hospitals until her retirement. She leaves the two daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene and Kit Anderson, Clinton, and Dionne Lewis, also of Clinton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Harold Jenkins of Clinton and Willard Jenkins, San Diego, California, and two sisters, Jessie Philmon, Clinton, and Mary Martin of Chilhowee. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son and also an infant grandson, Nathan Kit Anderson. She was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church in Clinton. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 1991, at the Consalus Chapel, Clinton. Reverend Jim Hammock officiated. Musical selections included Amazing Grace and Beulah Land. Gene Consalus was soloist and Helen Shrout, organist. Pallbearers were Ted Anderson, Kyle McQueen, Darren Lewis, Kit Anderson, Steve Goth, Robert Alexander and Andy Goth. Burial was in Englewood Cemetery. HUDGENS, Edgar C. "Red" n/a - 1997 Edgar C. (Red) Hudgens, 78, Binghamton, New York, died 10 a.m. Friday, February 14, 1997, at his home after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Josephine A. (Contro) Hudgens. He is survived by his son, John J. Hudgens, Stevensville, Pa.; two brothers, Marvin and Ruben Hudgens of Clinton; a sister, Rechie McLamore of Kansas City; numerous nieces and nephews and a very dear friend, Sam Opeka of Binghamton. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a retiree from New York State Department of Transportation. He also was a member of the American legion Post #1645, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Church of St. Paul of Binghamton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghampton and at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Church where a funeral mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. HUDGENS, Elmer C. n/a - 1991 Elmer C. Hudgens, 76, route one, Clinton, died Tuesday, November 12, 1991 at Golden Valley Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Emogene, of the home; three brothers, Edgar Hudgens of Binghamton, N.Y., Marvin and Willie Hudgens, both of Clinton; a sister, Rechie McLamore of Kansas City. Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Consalus Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday. November 20, at the Bliss-Earl Funeral Home in Cedar Springs, Michigan, with burial there. Mr. Hudgens was a construction worker for Midwest Precote of Kansas City, retiring in 1981 when he moved to Clinton. HUDGENS, Evelyn Louise O'BANION 1934 - 1993 Evelyn Louise Hudgens was born December 24, 1934, in Osceola, to Jesse and Maggie Cameron O'Banion. She passed away March 2, 1993, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. She was a longtime Clinton resident and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Clinton. She was a medical technologist. She is survived by her husband, John, of the home; three sons, Mike Johnson of California, Mo., Dale Johnson of Leeton and Jeff Peek of Virginia Beach, VA.; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Steward of Clinton and Mrs. Kay Stephens of Clinton; five brothers, Clarence O'Banion, John O'Banion and James O'Banion, all of Clinton, Cleo O'Banion of Joplin, and Bob Greathouse of Osceola; three sisters, Ruth Veach of Osceola, Violet Lindsey of Warsaw, and Lucille Peek of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Friday, march 5, 1993, at 10 a.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Rev. Richard Page officiated. Kathy Schmidli and Kristy Baumgarden were vocalists with Gail Ingle as accompanist. Pallbearers were Junior Stephens, Michael Johnson, Vernon Stephens, Freddie Johnson, Shelby Steward, Jr., and Phillip Voss. Burial was in Osceola Cemetery. HUDGENS, Idella Mae HUNT 1920 - 1986 Mrs. Idella Mae (Hudgens) Hunt, 67, 1216 Lawndale, Kansas City, died Wednesday July 30, at Research Medical Center Of Kansas City. She is survived by her husband, John B. Hunt of the home; Two sons, Leonard and Robert Hunt, both of Independence; Two daughters Mary Rusher also of Independence Mo, and Donna Hunt of Merriam Kansas; four brothers Elmer, Marvin, and Wilferd Hudgens, all of Clinton, and Edgar C. Hudgens Of Binghampton New York; one sister Rechie McLamore of Kansas City Mo. and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Hunt was born in Warsaw on January 29 1919 (should be 1920), daughter of Ruben D.Hudgens and Mary M. Bonner Hudgens. she was a homemaker. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Consalus Chapel, with Dr. Mark Prevo officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contibutions in her honor can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or your favorite charity. HUDGENS, Mary Molinda BONNER 1894 - 1955 Mrs. R. D.Hudgens Dies - Funeral services for Mrs. Reuben Doyle Hudgens, 60 who died June 28 at her home near Garland, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. July 1, at the Consalus Funeral Home by the Rev. Wendell Mosser. Accompanied by Mrs.C Hammond, Mr. Hammond sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset". Pallbearers were Chester Ake, Mark Paul, Ernest Allen, Virgil Brown, Herbert Jeffery, and David Clark. Burial Was in Englewood Cemetery. Mary Molinda Bonner was born at Osceola, Mo. Aug. 26 1894, the daughter of Sigmund and Lizzie Bonner. On Jan. 1913 she married Reuben Doyle Hudgens at Warsaw where they made their home until 1915 when they moved to Henry County. They lived first at Deepwater then in Clinton on 7th Street, and later near Garland which had since been their home. When 16 years of age she united with the Post Oak Christian Church near Warsaw. In ill health for a number of months she underwent surgery March 5 at Clinton General Hospital from which she could not recover and she succumbed June 28 at her home. She was a devoted wife and mother and especially delighted in her grandchildren and home. A good neighbor and kind friend she was ever thoughtful and helpful to others. Survivors are the husband of the home; Three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Gibson, Cross Timbers Mo. Mrs. Rechie McLamore Kansas City Mo. and Mrs.John (Idella) Hunt Clinton. Four sons Elmer C. Hudgens, Kansas City Mo. Edgar C. Hudgens Binghampton New York, Marvin Hudgens, Clinton. and Wilferd Hudgens of the home; and seven grandchildren. Sisters are Mrs. Martha Ritter California, and Flora Bonner Oklahoma, and one brother, William Bonner, Oklahoma. HUDGENS, Ruben D. 1891 - 1964 Funeral Services for Ruben D. Hudgens, 73 will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Consalus Funeral Home. Mr. Hudgens died early today (May 18 1964) at Clinton General Hospital. He was born May 15 1891 at White Cloud Kansas. The son of Christopher C. and Martha Smith Hudgens. His present home was near Huntingdale. he was a member of the Warsaw Christian Church. Mr. Hudgens is survived by the following Children: Mrs. Beulah Gipson, Clinton, Mrs. Idella Hunt, Mrs. Rechie McLamore, Elmer C. Hudgens all of Kansas City Mo. Edgar C. Hudgens, Binghampton New York, Marvin Hudgens, Clinton, and Wilferd Hudgens of the home.
