HUGHES OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== HUGHES, Nancy Jane 1896 - 1995 Nancy Jane Hughes, 99, St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Windsor, died Tuesday, May 2 1995, in St.Petersburg. She was born January 6, 1896, in Windsor, the daughter of Lewis Edgar Hughes and Caroline Marti Hughes. She moved from Windsor to Torrington, Wyoming, where she lived for 55 years before moving to Riverside, California. She lived the last five years of her life in St. Petersburg, Fl. Miss Hughes was a nurse and worked in home health care. She was a member of the order of Eastern Star, Chapter #22, Torrington, Wyoming, and the American Baptist Church, Riverside, Ca. Survivors include a niece, Caroline Hughes Dunkle, St. Petersburg; two great-nieces, a great-nephew, four great-great-nephew, all of Florida. Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 9, 1:30 p.m. at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Rev. Chuck Phillips officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. HUGHES, Shelby Dr. 1903 - 1988 Dr. Shelby Hughes died Aug 10, 1988. He was born June 4, 1903. Dr. Hughes practiced medicine privately in Clinton for 47 years and retired in 1977. Funeral services were August 13, 1988 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, with burial in the Bear Creek Cemetery. HUGHES, Thomas S. 1864 - 1934 Torrington Telegram, Torrington, WY, June 7, 1934 - Tom Hughes Dies Following Illness Of Week. Thomas S. Hughes, 70, died at his home in Windsor, Mo., May 31st. and the body was sent to Torrington for interment in the Valley View Cemetery. Funeral was held Monday from the Colyer mortuary, conducted by the Rev. E.B. Laux. Tom Hughes was one of the old timers of this section. He came from Missouri to Sidney, Nebr., in 1880 and worked for the Tuslar Cattle company. In 1900 he homesteaded in Goshen County south of Yoder and later moved to Torrington where he owned considerable real estate at the time of his death. A few years ago he returned to Windsor, Mo. to live. He was born at Windsor in 1864, but wanted to be buried in Valley View Cemetery here where his brother, I.N. Hughes and other relatives are interred. A third member of the Hughes brothers, Louis, lives in the Yoder community and Tom has numerous nephews and nieces in this county. Besides his widow, the deceased leaves six children; Carl of Los Angeles; Paul of Rogers, Ark.; Bert of Windsor, Mo.; Mrs. Orlie Duncan of Rawlins, Wyo.; Mrs. Jennie Jackson, Des Moines, Ia.; and Jessie, Oklahoma City.
