Since her death, his granddaughter, Mrs. Della Chisler, had taken care of him and made his life as happy as it is possible for any one to be who has lost a good companion. He has often remarked that "Della and Fred are so good to me and make life so pleasant for me." He lived an active life up to the time of his death. He made garden and mowed his lawn Saturday, and passed away without any signs of suffering that night, as peacefully as going to sleep. The funeral services were conducted at Drake's Chapel, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, by Rev. E. T. Raney. A large crowd of sympathizing friends were present to pay their last respects to the departed.
