MILLIKEN OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== MILLIKEN, Jimmie S. 1911 - 1989 Jimmie S. Milliken, 77, died at his home in Calhoun, Saturday evening, April 22, 1989. Jimmie had heart bypass surgery in Columbia in January of this year and he had not recovered completely. Jimmie Milliken was born June 6, 1911, In Kansas City. He lived with his mother and one brother, Charlie, until he was five years old. At the death of his mother, he came to the Calhoun area where he lived with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bell. Jim grew up as one of their family. He was married to Viola Faler Hull on June 21, 1947. They lived in Windsor for seven years and since that time had lived in and around Calhoun. Jim spent nine and one-half years in the military. He was stationed in the Philippines at the beginning of World War II. He survived the infamous Bataan Death March and then taken to Japan where he was a prisoner of war until the end of WW II. He is survived by his wife, Viola and son, Dale, of the home in Calhoun. Funeral services were held at the Calhoun Baptist Church with Rev. Delmar McNeely officiating.
