MOBERLY OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== MOBERLY, Edwin Raymond 1899 - 1972 Services for Edwin R. Moberly were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Clinton with burial in Englewood Cemetery. Mr. Moberly, 73, Route 1, Clinton, was born September 14, 1899, and died Wednesday, October 18, 1972, at the Golden Valley Hospital. Consalus Funeral Home was in charge. He is survived by three sons: Wendell Moberly of Clinton; Harold and Marvin Moberly of Emporia, KS; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Greenwell, Deepwater, MO; a brother, Bill Moberly, Clinton, a sister, Mrs. Irene Titsworth, Windsor, MO; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. MOBERLY, Ethel Irene VESTAL 1909 - 1985 Ethel I. Vestal Moberly, who died in March 1985, was born in Henry County, Missouri, around the Shawnee Mound area on December 14, 1909, the daughter of Morgan and Elizabeth Devenny Vestal. On September 14, 1926, she was united in marriage with Edwin Raymond Moberly in Clinton. To this union four children were born, three sons and a daughter. She was united with the Quarles Baptist Church in 1939, later becoming a charter member of the Northeast Baptist Church. Mrs. Moberly was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Albert Robert and Roy, and a sister, Annie Wallace. She is survived by three sons: Wendell Moberly of Clinton, Harold Moberly and Marvin Moberly both of Emporia, KS; a daughter, Jean Greenwell of Deepwater, a sister, Minnie Singers of Kansas City, KS; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on March 9, 1985, at the Northeast Baptist Church with the Rev. Aubrey Burk officiating. Interment was in the Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, with David Garcia, Dave Pierce, John Ake, Ronnie Johns, John James and Everett Austin serving as pallbearers. Sickman & Dunning Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MOBERLY, Harold Edwin 1928 - 1998 Harold Edwin Moberly, 69, Emporia, Kansas, died Friday, January 16, 1998, at the Newman Hospital in Emporia. He was born October 17, 1928, in Clinton, the son of Edwin Raymond and Ethel Irene (Vestal) Moberly. He married Dorothy Jean Everhart of Clinton on October 18, 1946. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean Everhart; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Edwin and Billie Moberly, Emporia; one daughter and son-in-law, Diana Jean and Brian Bowers of Grandview; one brother and sister-in-law, Marvin S. and Frances Moberly of Emporia; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Wayne Greenwell of Deepwater, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wendell Moberly. He was a truck driver for Dolly Madison Cake Company for 32 years, retiring six years ago. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 20, 1998, at 2 p.m. at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel in Emporia with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. MOBERLY, Wendell Eugene 1927 - 1987 Wendell Moberly, son of Edwin and Ethel Vestal Moberly, was born July 21, 1927, in Henry County, MO, and passed away on October 13, 1987, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital at the age of 60 years. Wendell attended schools at Comer, Curtis, Shawnee Mound, and Clinton. Me married Anna Lee Rader on October 23, 1950, and to this union was born two children, Gary and Carla. Wendell was self employed as a livestock trucker with several trucks. In 1969 he opened the Clinton Hog Market where he worked until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Clinton; and a member of the Eagles. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Anna of the home; one son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Carla; one daughter, Carla and son-in-law Jerry Warnock, all of Clinton; two brothers, Harold Moberly and Marvin Moberly, both of Emporia, KS; one sister, Jean Greenwell of Deepwater, as well as three grandchildren, Mark and Devin Moberly and Amanda Warnock. He is also survived by one aunt, a brother-in-law and sister-in-laws as well as a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Since his retirement he especially enjoyed taking care of his cattle, spending time with his friends, taking his pontoon boat out on the lake, and playing with his grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, October 16, 1987, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Clinton with Rev. Dan Bryson officiating. Pallbearers were David Dehn, Gene Pogue, Jack Fields, John Armstrong, Jerry Osborn, and Max Combs. Honorary casketbearers were Meryl Jones, J. L. White, R. L. Dunning, Roy Akers, Bob Cook, Lloyd Young and Walter Houk.
