MURPHY, Vera Lee RUSH 1906 - 1995

Vera Lee Rush was born May 2, 1906, in Blairstown, the daughter of William and 
Ethel (Stewart) Rush. She died October 21, 1995, at her home in Fairview, 
Kansas, at the age of 89. Vera Lee was married to Loyd Fleming Murphy, who 
preceded her in death on June 10, 1978. They lived in Shawnee Mission, Kansas 
(now Fairview, Kansas) for many years. Mrs. Murphy was a high school business 
teacher and taught at both North Kansas City and Bishop Hogan high schools. She 
is survived by one daughter, Gayle Madden, Fairway, Kansas; four grandchildren, 
Michael Madden, Boone Wilkes, Jeff Wilkes, Corina Wilkes, and one great-
grandson, Spencer Denham. Graveside services were 2 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 
at Wall Cemetery, Johnson County.
