NEPTUNE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== NEPTUNE, Elmer Lee 1876 - 1964 Elmer Lee Neptune, 88, Belle Plaine, Kan., brother of Mrs. Cora N. Davis, 519 East Ohio, Clinton (Mo.) died Monday, Sept. 14 (1964) in a Wellington, Kan., hospital. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sept. 17, at Belle Plaine. The Rev. Hugh C. Berry officiated, assisted by the Rev. Donald B. Zook. Seva Cheek, organist, accompanied singers, Barbara Brummet and Marjorie Ott. Committal services in the Belle Plaine Cemetery were conducted by the Belle Plaine Masonic Lodge No. 173. Pallbearers were Don Spencer, Harold Hatfield, Jess McFarland, Lester Spencer, Barton Evers and George McAllister. Mr. Neptune was born March 9, 1876, in Lawrence, Ohio, one of four children of William Henry and Eliza Virginia Earles Neptune. Two sisters preceded him in death. The family moved to the Old Piper community in Henry County (Mo.) when Mr. Neptune was about a year old and there he was reared and educated. The family lived on the old Neptune homeplace 18 miles south of Clinton. He moved to Belle Plaine, Kan., in the late 1800's. In 1926 he married Maude Snyder and the home continued throughout their married live to be in Belle Plaine. Mr. Neptune was a retired blacksmith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Wichita Consistory and was past patron of the Eastern Star.
