PHILLIPS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== PHILLIPS, Rosa Lee IVY 1875 - 1927 Mrs. Rosa Lee Ivy, wife of J. S. Phillips, was born Feb 1 1875, at Crittendon, Morgan county, Missouri, and departed this life Friday, Nov. 25, 1927. She was united in marriage to J. S. Phillips Nov. 26, 1898, at Crittenden where they located on a farm and remained a number of years. Later they removed to the present farm located east of Windsor, coming here in the year 1910. Mrs. Phillips was a faithful member of the Windsor Baptist church and attended its services regularly as long as her failing health would permit. She was a true Christian, a faithful wife, and a friend that could be trusted. Her departure has brought great sorrow to her many friends, her faithful husband, and her two sisters, Mrs. Grace Roe of Sedalia and Mrs. Della Mason of Medford, Okla., and to her relatives. The departure of Mrs. Phillips came peacefully and sweetly like entering into restful sleep and her spirit took its departure to "be" with Christ which is far better. "Fore me to live is Christ, to die is gain," said the apostle who thought it was all through and could estimate the future. The funeral was conducted at the Baptist church by the pastor Rev. J. A. Bryson, in the presence of hundreds of friends and loved ones last Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Added to the comforting words of God presented by the pastor were the wealth of beautiful flowers, presented by friends and loved ones, and the comforting songs so well rendered.
