PREWITT OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== PREWITT, William Matthew "Matt" n/a - 1992 Former Holden resident, William Matthew (Matt) Prewitt, 19, was found dead of a gunshot wound in rural Lee's Summit over the weekend. Prewitt was found on his grandparents' property at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday. The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office said it believes that the gunshot wound was self- inflicted, but that an investigation will continue. Prewitt was a 1992 graduate of the Lee's Summit High School and was enrolled at Longview Community College in Lee's Summit. He was the son of Patricia Ann Prewitt and the late William Prewitt of Holden. The family owned Prewitt Lumber in Holden until Prewitt was shot and killed at his rural home north of town in 1984. Mrs. Prewitt, who still claims that her husband was killed by an unknown intruder, was later convicted of the shooting and sentenced to life in prison. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
