RUKES, Evalena LILE 1894 - 1980

Mrs. Evalena Rukes (Lile) of 1426 Grandview Drive, died May 17, 1980 at Johnson 
County Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov 3, 1894 in Clinton, the daughter of 
Charles M. and Emily Jane Lile. She was the youngest of 13 children, all of whom 
preceded her in death except one sister, Rosa Ogg of Sterling Colorado. Mrs. Rukes 
attended school in Clinton and married Jesse R. Rukes on Sept. 30, 1918 in 
Clinton, Henry Co., Missouri. They lived on a farm east of Clinton for several 
years and for 25 years had owned and operated the Clinton Transfer Co., until the 
death of Mr. Rukes on December 3, 1966. Mrs. Rukes also was preceded in death by 
a son, Charles Raymond Lile, who died in 1959. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. 
Harry (Maxine)Turney, 1426 Grandview Drive; seven grandchildren and 10 great 
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Consalus Funeral Home in 
Clinton at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in the Englewood Cemetery in 
Clinton.
