RUPE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== RUPE, Lucille Bernice SMITH JULIAN 1912 - 1991 Lucille Bernice Smith was born March 11, 1912, in Windsor, one of four children to Ralph E. and Velma Green Smith. She graduated from the Windsor High School in 1929, In April 15, 1934 she married Alfred Julian. Her early employment included the Brown Shoe Company of Windsor, the Rusk Hatchery and lather she managed the Ralph Julian Hatcheries. During her life she also co-owned and operated a number of businesses, including the Quality Hatchery, The Catley-Julian Lumber Yard and the Kemper-Julian Partnership. She also served as the treasurer of the Clinton Township Board for 31 years. Alfred preceded her in death on March 1, 1970. On November 25, 1975, she married Kenneth D. Rupe who survives of the home. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Windsor and later was baptized in and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton. She was also active in a number of organizations, the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, Business and Professional Women's Club, charter member of the Clinton Country Club, and a member of the Meadow Lake Country Club. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by three daughters, Mary Jane Park of Raymore, Kathryn Ann Brown of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Linda Sue Freeman of Kansas City: one son James E. Rupe of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren, Mike, Jason, and Juli Brown, Jill Park, Stacy Lynn and Jill Ann Murry, and one great-grandchild, Jessica Ann Murry, and a multitude of friends. Funeral services were Monday, June 17, at 10:30 a. m. at the Consalus Chapel in Clinton. Reverend Howard Cupp and Reverend Ronald Chastine officiated. Musical selections were "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden". Don Eaton was soloist, and Helen Shrout, organist. Pallbearers were Charles Keck, Floyd Pinkston, Ray Spellman, Harry Stone, Clarence Kemper and Elmer Meredith.
