SAUERHAGEN OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== SAUERHAGEN, Garnet Zo Dot 1928 - 1929 Garnet Zo Dot, infant daughter of Mr and Mrs H. W. Sauerhagen, was born Jul 19, 1928, and died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, in February 1929, at the family home, 8 miles north of Clinton. The little one was six months and 17 days old, and had been ill of pneumonia for about a week. Besides the parents, a little sister and brother are left, who will so sadly miss this dear little one. Funeral services were conducted at the home, at 10 a.m. Wednesday by Rev Faulkner, pastor of the Quarles Baptist Church. Burial was in Englewood Cemetery. SAUERHAGEN, Harless V. 1927 - 1997 Harless V. Sauerhagen, 70, died Nov 25, 1997, at a local hospital. He was a retired service station operator. Mr Sauerhagen served in the Navy from 1944 to 1945. Mr Sauerhagen was born Feb 4, 1927, in Clinton, MO. He was married April 4, 1952, to Jeanette M. (Jennie) Sparks. He is survived by his wife, Jennie; two sons, Roger D. and Rodney; a daughter, Marilyn K.; a brother, Marvin L.; two sisters, Mary Allison and Ruth Whitaker; eight grandchildren; and one great- grandson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, 634-1597. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shrine of Remembrance. America the Beautiful Chapel of Roses. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Church of Security, 626 Aspen Drive, Security 80911. SAUERHAGEN, Herman W. 1903 - 1976 Herman W. Sauerhagen, born May 14, 1903, in Franklin County, the only child of Gustav and Anna Tubbesing Sauerhagen, died June 8, 1976, in Colorado Springs, CO, in a local hospital. His father died when Herman was very young. In his teens he, with his mother, moved to Henry County on a farm in the Quarles neighborhood where he farmed and he also worked at a mill in Clinton. In September 1924 he married Ruby Sorrells of Drakes Chapel. His family moved to Colorado springs 36 years ago. His wife died November 7, 1954. He married again on July 17, 1956. His funeral was June 11 at 10 a.m. at the Law Mortuary with the Rev. Robert Frykholm officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. Before his retirement he had been in business with his sons. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Frances Sauerhagen; two sons, Harless and Marvin Sauerhagen of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Mary Allison of Colorado Springs and Ruth Whitaker, Sacramento, CA. Also stepchildren and many relatives and friends in Missouri. One infant daughter, Garnet Zodot, and his mother preceded him in death. SAUERHAGEN, Ruby SORRELS 1906 - 1954 Mrs. Herman Sauerhagen died Nov 7, 1954, at the Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO. Her sister, Mrs. Arthur Holt, Clinton, MO, and brother, Olan Sorrels, Lewis Station, left Monday morning to attend funeral services Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Funeral services for Ruby Sorrels Sauerhagen were held Nov 9, 1954, in Colorado Springs, CO. Relatives attending from Missouri were Mrs. Arthur Holt, Olan Sorrels, Mrs. William Tubbesing and Miss Huldah, Clinton; Mrs. Joe Bowser and Howard Ragland, Kansas City, MO. Ruby Sorrels, daughter of William Kennedy and Mary Susan Sorrels, was born May 23, 1906, in Calhoun, MO. She attended the Calhoun and Lewis schools and was married to Herman W. Sauerhagen Sep 17, 1924. Five children blessed this union, one dying in infancy. She lived all her life in Henry County until 11 years ago when they moved to Colorado, hoping her health would improve. She retained her membership in the Quarles Baptist Church.
