SCHLAPPER OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== SCHLAPPER, Ruby PAUL 1891 - 1922 Sufferings Ended - With sad hearts the many friends and acquaintances heard of the death of Mrs. J. W. Schlapper, which occurred at 11:05 Sunday night. She had been in failing health the past six months. About three weeks ago she was taken to the Dr. N. I. Stebbins Hospital, where she underwent an operation, removing a six pound tumor, from which she was recovering nicely. Later a serious bowel complication arose, which was due to cancer of the bowels, causing complete occlusion. She was given the most skilled and tender care by physician and nurses, but her condition proved of so serious a nature that it was impossible for human hands to proloung her earthly life, and the Saviour called her spirit to the Heavenly Home, where suffering is unknown. Her maiden name was Ruby Paul, being the eldest child of George Paul and wife, who live on South Carter street. She was born in Clinton 31 years ago the 9th of last January. She had been a member of the Baptist church since a young girl, and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends. About 12 years ago, she was united in marriage with J. W. Schlapper, who survives her with one little, Levi Paul, who is 8 years of age. Their first child, a son, died in infancy. Besides the grief-stricken parents, husband and little son, she leaves one brother, Mark Paul, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and two sisters, Mrs. E. L. Rissell, of Clinton, and Miss Julian Paul, who is employed in Kansas City. The deepest sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved ones in this dark hour of sorrow, and may they look to the Heavenly Father for comfort, for He alone can heal the hearts so torn with grief. And may the Savior gently guide the footsteps of the little son, who will be so sadly miss the loving mother care through life. She was never too tired or busy to stop and help him in whatever trouble he brought to her, and although the father and grandparents will try to fill her place, no one can take the place of mother. The sister and brother both came for the funeral. Her brother had been here several days, returning to Little Rock a few days before the operation. The funeral services were held at the late home of Mrs. Schlapper, Wednesday afternoon, after which the remains were tenderly laid to rest in Englewood cemetery Wednesday afternoon. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, silently expressing the sympathy and love of her many friends. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
