SHEEK OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== SHEEK, Jennie May BRIGGS 1892 - 1992 Mrs. Jennie May Sheek, 100, died Tuesday, October 20, 1992, at the golden Valley Hospital in Clinton. She was a lifelong Henry County resident in the Leesville community. - Jennie M. Sheek, 100 years, 6 months and 21 days old, passed from this life to her eternal home in glory on October 20, 1992. She was the daughter of William (Uncle Billy) and Laura (Gray) Briggs. In 1912 she was married to Robert (Bob Ike) Sheek, who preceded her in death in August of 1959. To this union three children were born; Doris (Mrs. Wallace Dundas), Reva June (Mrs. Ira T. Mallory), and Morris (Shorty) Sheek. Jennie was saved at the age of 10 and was baptized in the Tebo Creek and joined the Tebo Baptist Church in 1902. This church was founded by her forefathers. She remained a faithful member all of her life, living in the Leesville community in her own home, then with her daughter June because of her failing eyesight. The past three years, when her health failed, she became a member of the family at Westwood Nursing Center in Clinton. The joy of Jennie's life was her family and her church. She was faithful with her tithe of all her time and possessions. On her 100th birthday, in March 1992, she requested that any gifts be designated to the Tebo Baptist Church Building Fund. This money was a great help in the construction of a new fellowship hall at the church. Her wish at this time would be the same. That any memorials be given to the Building Fund of the church. Survivors include the three before mentioned children, 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, plus a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, October 23, 1992, at the Tebo Baptist Church, with the Reverends Gary Myers, Larry Mallory, Bill Hix, and Randy Miller officiating.
