SOUTHERS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== SOUTHERS, Albert 1897 - 1981 Albert Southers, son of William and Ona Bell (Snyder) Southers, was born Sep 28, 1897, in Henry County, MO. On August 14, 1932, he was united in marriage to Wilma Ollie Bradley. They lived in the Huntingdale community for about 32 years, where they ran a general store. Four children were born to this union. The four children born to this union now survive, along with their mother. They are: Nancy Jones, A. J., and Annabell Breshears. Mr. Southers passed away at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Dec 14, 1981, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bill, and a sister, Minnie. Funeral services were at the Consalus Chapel. Pallbearers were: Danny Weaver, Bryan Jones, Jay Thornbuerg, C. W. Southers, Robert Southers and Roger Bradley. Burial was in Englewood Cemetery. SOUTHERS, Nellie Grace JOHNSON 1929 - 1999 Nellie Grace Southers, 70, of Clinton Mo. (formerly of Odessa, Mo.) died Saturday October 16, 1999 at her home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday October 20,1999 at the Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden, Mo. with Rev. Larry Palmgren officiating. Burial will follow in the Carpenter Cemetery, Chilhowee, Mo. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 Tuesday, October 19 at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes Hospice and these may be left at the chapel. Grace was born Monday March 4, 1929, in LaTour, Mo., the daughter of William Edward and Nannie Selma Martin Johnson. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Grace had worked at Western Electric Co. in Lee`s Summit in the 1960`s, Walmart in Odessa in the 1980`s and later the Odessa Community Day Care Center. She married Robert Southers December 24, 1965, in Chilhowee, Mo. He preceded her in death March 23, 1998. Grace is survived by a daughter, Diane Manford Dean and husband Larry; a son, Danny Manford and wife Sharon, all of Holden, Mo. A sister, Catherine Nichols, Holden, Mo. and a brother, Orville Johnson and his wife Eunice, LaTour Mo. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. SOUTHERS, Robert W. 1934 - 1998 Robert W. Southers, 63, Clinton, Mo. (formerly of Odessa, Mo.), passed away Monday, March 23, 1998 at his residence. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden, Mo., with the Rev. Larry Palmgren officiating; burial in Carpenter Cemetery, Chilhowee, Mo. Family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Southers was born June 12, 1934, in Huntingdale, Mo., to William and Hannah Frances Riley Southers. He had been a truck driver for M.F.A. Feed Company in Odessa, Mo. for several years until he retired in 1996. He served in the United States Army from February 6, 1957 to January 15, 1959. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He married Grace Manford on December 24, 1965, in Chilhowee, Mo.; she survives at the home. Survivors also include one daughter, Diane Dean and her husband, Larry, and son, Danny Manford and his wife, Sharon, all of Holden, Mo.; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; mother Mrs. Frances Southers, Clinton, Mo.; and three brothers and their wives, Jim and Pat Southers, Keiser, Or., C.
