Steward, 74, Clinton, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 1999, at his home. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 4, at the Clinton United Methodist Church with Dr. David Maggi officiating; burial was in the Antioch Cemetery, Clinton. The family suggests contributions to the Clinton United Methodist Church and may be sent to Vansant- Mills Funeral Home, 314 West Jefferson, Clinton, MO 64735. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; eight children, Philip Steward and wife, Faye, Memphis, TN, David Steward and wife, Thelma, St. Louis, MO, Michael Steward, Clinton, MO, Robert Steward and wife, Lesa, Raytown, MO, Regina Steward Brame and husband, Ivan, Kansas City, MO, Joan Newbill, Omaha, NE, Yvonne Williams and husband, Johnny, Grandview, MO, and Martha Hurtt and husband, Lewis, Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Morris Steward and Alphonso Steward and two sisters, Ruth Boyd and Juanita Whitehead, all of Chicago, IL; one brother-in-law, Jesse Dukes, Sepulveda, CA; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. (Arrangements: Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO) STEWARD, Thomas Marion 1912 - 1996 Thmas Marion Steward was born December 28, 1912, in Osceola, the son of Alonzo and Nona (Turpin) Steward. He died Saturday, March 23, 1996, at the Westwood Nursing Center in Clinton at the age of 83. Mr. Steward lived in the Clinton area most of his life. He was married to Olive Edna Shopp January 25, 1932, in Clinton. Until the time of his retirement, Mr. Steward farmed and he also showed registered hogs. He was a member of the Shawnee Mound Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Olive, of the home; one daughter, Charlene Conrad, Clinton; one son Michael Stewward, Warsaw; one sister, Vineta Shulse of Texas; one brother-in-law, Pete Gregg, Urich; six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rev. Jerry Baughman officiating. Don Eaton sang The Old Rugged Cross and How Great Thou Art. Scott brooks was organist. Pallbearers were T. M. Mann, Jonathan Mann, Doug Goben, Ray Hawkins, Chad Preston and O. D. Merrifield.
