Kansas City Star, Nov 2 1999 - Harvey I. Stroup, 86, Kansas City, KS, passed away 
Monday, November 1, 1999, at his home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. 
Wednesday, November 3, at Joseph A. Butler & Son Funeral Home, 19th & 
Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS; burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 
6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Hospice 
of Preferred Choice, 151 S. Main, Liberty, MO 64068. Mr. Stroup was born in 
Windsor, MO, and lived in Kansas City most of his life. He retired in 1974 from 
General Motors after 27 years. Mr. Stroup was a member of the National and 
Kansas City Wood Carvers Associations. He leaves sons, George B. Stroup, 
Parkville, MO, and Donald Stroup, Olathe, KS; brother, Jake Ray Stroup, Braymer, 
MO; sister, Virginia Norton, Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren; and six great-
grandchildren.
