SUTHERLAND OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== SUTHERLAND, Leland Bentley 1874 - 1935 Leland Bentley Sutherland, son of D. L. and Elizabeth Sutherland, was born September 26, 1874, in Johnson county, Missouri. He passed away Saturday morning, March 9, after a few weeks illness following a paralytic stroke. On February 20, 1898 he was married to Nannie Hall, and to this union three children were born, Mary, now Mrs. Virgil Cooper of Windsor, Mo., Lillian who died in infancy, and Elizabeth, now Mrs. Orden C. Oechsli of Jefferson City, Mo. Mr. Sutherland professed Christ as his saviour in early manhood and became a member of the High Point Baptist church, later moving his membership to Windsor. Besides the wife and two daughters and their families, he is survived by four brothers and two sisters; J. O. Sutherland, E. E. Sutherland, R. G. Sutherland, S. H. Sutherland and Mrs. W. G. Ruffin, all of Windsor, Mo., and Mrs. W. E. Botts of Bell, Mo. Mr. Sutherland was 60 years, 5 months and 13 days of age at the time of his death. Pall bearers were the nephews, Logan Sutherland, Elbert Sutherland, W. C. Boney, Kenneth Botts, Guy Ferguson and John D. Ruffin. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, March 10, with Rev. Geo. C. Humphrey in charge, Interment was in Laurel Oak cemetery under the direction of Huston-Turner Mortuary. SUTHERLAND, Vivian H. abt 1920 - 2000 Kansas City Star, Jun 11 2000 - Vivian H. Sutherland, 80, Windsor, MO, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at his home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Louis, MO. Mr. Sutherland is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; a daughter, Connie Robbins, Warrensburg, MO; three stepsons, Ed See, Warrensburg, MO, Ronnie See, Seneca, MO, and Jerald See, Independence, MO; three stepdaughters, Connie Barker, Windsor, MO, Judy Helm, Odessa, MO, and Karen Bannister, Olathe, KS; two grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.
