TEVIS, Charles C. Jr. 1938 - 1992

Charles C. Tevis, Jr., 53, Liberty, passed away Sunday, February 2, 1992, at 
Liberty Hospital in Liberty. He was born May 20, 1938, in Holden, the son of 
Charles, Sr. and Helen (Hodges) Tevis. He was reared and educated in Holden and 
lived in Independence for 25 years before moving to Liberty in 1990. He had 
worked as a construction laborer. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the mid-
1950's. Surviving are one son, Charles C. Tevis, Buckner; two step-sons, Bruce 
Tevis, Buckner, and Tim Tevis, U.S. military; three brothers, John Tevis, 
Kingsville, Butch Tevis and Rick Tevis, both of Holden, and a sister, Peggy Herzog, 
Tacoma, Washington. Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 
1992, at Holden Cemetery, Holden. Reverend William Simmer officiated.
