UDO OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== UDO, Harry Lee 1906 - 1991 Harry Lee Udo was born January 26, 1906, in North Dakota, the son of Neal and Tonia Udo. He passed away at the Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City September 2, 1991, at the age of 85 years seven months and seven days. He was a farmer and lived south of Coal for many years. The past few years he and his wife, the former Ruth Puckett, have been in the Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and by one son, Kevin Udo of Kansas City; a grandson, Christopher Udo, and a granddaughter, Jeanette Udo. He was preceded in death by another son, William Leslie Udo, who died June 22, 1980. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 1991, at the Consalus Chapel. Reverend Harold Norfleet officiated. Gene Consalus sang "God's Tomorrow" and "Ivory Palaces", accompanied by Helen Shrout on the organ. Pallbearers were Paul Pruessner, Roy Antwiler, Eldon Lawler, Finis Smith, Ralph Charles and Oscar Pruessner. Burial was in the Englewood Cemetery. UDO, Ruth Eileen PUCKETT 1915 - 1994 Ruth E. Udo, 79, Lowry City, died Tuesday, July 5, 1994, at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City. - Ruth Eileen Puckett, youngest daughter of William M. and Eva O. (McQueen) Puckett, was born May 1 1915, near Leesville. She obtained all her elementary training at the Shady Grove School near her home. At an early age, she professed an urgent desire to become a teacher. She rode horseback four miles to high school at Coal and often walked when it was very cold. The junior and senior year's high school training was obtained at Clinton High School, graduating in 1933. As she had taken teacher training, she received a certificate and taught Turner Rural School and the following term. She taught a total of 10 years at the following schools; Turner, Shady Grove, Logan and Mound Springs. She often made the statement, "Those were 10 very good years in my life." May 8, 1940, Harry Udo and Ruth Puckett were married. This union was blessed with two sons, Lester Kevin (birth date removed), and Leslie William, born October 5, 1946. They worked hard on their farm south of Coal to provide an education for their sons. Then the Kaysinger Dam and Reservoir Project caused an involuntary sale of the farm on March 19, 1969. They then moved to a small farm near Ballard, where they remained until their health failed. She had much illness and some surgery but always tried to be thankful when she was on her feet. She is survived by one son, Kevin Udo, Kansas City; two grandchildren, Christopher Udo and Jeanette Udo, and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, on September 2, 1991, and her son, Leslie William, on June 22, 1980. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, at the Consalus Chapel, Clinton. Rev. Harold Norfleet officiated. Don Eaton sang "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Scott Brooks.
