WHITAKER OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== WHITAKER, John Sydney 1920 - 1994 John Sydney Whitaker was born December 11, 1920, in Brownington, the son of Sydney W. and Anna (Hower) Whitaker. He die Wednesday, December 28, 1994, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force Signal Corp and attended Central Missouri State College. He was united in marriage to Helen Linton. He was a lifelong resident of the Deepwater community. He was a well known area businessman, operating the Bank of Deepwater for many years. Mr. Whitaker is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home, and one sister, Rowena W. Lingle of California. Graveside services and burial were 2 p.m. Saturday, December 31, at the Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington. Rev. Marshall Dark officiated. Jim Raysik played Military Taps. Pallbearers were David E. Garcia, Ted Holt, Jim Ed Holt, Norman Hillebrand, Harvey Dunning, Dean Rufenaught and Curt Fellhoelter.
