WHITE OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== WHITE, Everett Dee 1897 - 1991 Everett Dee White, 94, passed away December 13, 1991 at Sycamore View Nursing Home in Clinton. Everett, the son of Bruce White and Laura E. Duval White, was born September 6, 1897 in Holden. Mr. White lived all his life in Missouri and had been in Clinton since 1971. He was a postal clerk for 37 years. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Avanel White of Clinton, and a cousin, Dortha Presbaugh, Centerville, Ohio. Graveside services were held at Englewood Cemetery on December 16, 1991 with Dr. Ronald Chastine officiating. Burial was in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Consalus Funeral Home. WHITE, Goldie M. n/a - 1991 Mrs. Goldie M. White, 89, Clinton, formerly of northeast Kansas City, died Oct. 18, 1991 at a nursing home in Clinton. She was born in Green Forest, Ark., and lived in Kansas City until moving to Clinton in 1986. Mrs. White was a member of the Budd Park Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, Benjamin E. White of the home; a son, William White, Clinton; a daughter, June Maston, Independence; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Newcomer's Floral Hills Cemetery. WHITE, Pauline Jane CHASTAIN 1864 - 1923 Mrs. Pauline Jane White, daughter of Jerry and Tabitha Chastain, was born April the 1st, 1864, in Henry county, Mo., near Leesville, where she grew up to young womanhood. On October 31st, 1883, she was married to Frank L. White, with whom she lived in peace and happiness. To this union five children were born - four boys and one girl. Three having died, only two are left. The children: Jerry, deceased; Wm. E., of Iola, Kansas; A. A., of Chico, California; O. O. died in infancy and Dollie, the youngest, was about 18 years old when she died, loved and cherished by all who knew her. The mother went to the grave in sorrow for her only daughter, whom she loved so well. In early life she professed a living hope, Jesus her Saviour, and united with the Baptist church at Tebo, of which relation she maintained true to the end; faithful to attend its services, ever at her place when able to attend, and often when she was not able. The last few years she was badly afflicted, and yet amidst it all she was cheerful and busy about much, serving her household, working willingly with her hands, a true and affectionate wife and mother, a dutiful and obedient child to her parents, a kind and good neighbor. her burdens and cares are all over now. We will say: Well done; thou hast entered into the joys of thy Lord, and the rest that remains for the people of God, with the many loved ones gone before. When friends thought she was dying, she clapped her hands and praised God she had a home in Heaven. Said she was ready to go home. She died July 4th, at 2 a.m. She leaves a husband, two brothers; J. B. Chastain, of Coal; Daniel, of Rockville; two sisters, Mary Delozier, of Leesville, and Mattie Carter, of Windsor; also several grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who will greatly miss her at the Tebo church. Her funeral was preached by Rev. Wm. Briggs, a life long friend, from the words of David - "Thou wilt show me" (Psalms 16:11), after which the body was laid to rest in the cemetery nearby. WHITE, Ruth CROSS 1891 - 1973 The Clinton Daily Democrat, Friday, Feb 2 1973 - Ruth White, The daughter of Richard J. and Sarah M. Cross, was born In Benton County, Mo. December 31, 1891, and died at her home on January 29, 1973. She was married to Torrance Harvey White on February 19, 1908. To this union eight children were born, six of whom survive: Seth, Kansas City, Kansas; Richard, Butler; Eugene, Clinton; R. C., Jefferson City; Naomi Langdon, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Neola Foster, Lee's Summit; also a loving and devoted grand-daughter, Barbara, who was raised from birth by Mr. and Mrs. White and who lovingly lived with her until her passing. She also leaves 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard J. Cross, Osceola; two sisters, Katie Wright and Edith Johnson, Lowry City and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 7, 1962, and two sons, Ervin, on June 18, 1971, and Herschel on January 20, 1966. In early womanhood, she professed her faith in Christ and joined the Shady Grove Baptist Church In St. Clair County, and In later years transferred her membership to the Northeast Baptist Church in Clinton. Funeral Services were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 31 at Sickman-Dunning Funeral Home with burial In Englewood Cemetery. The Rev. Loie Allen officiated. The pallbearers were Larry White, Terry White, Bill Fife, Bobby White, Kent Foster and Cecil Harmon. WHITE, Torrance Harvey 1887 - 1962 Clinton Eye - Funeral Services For Torrance Harvey White, 75, of the Bethlehem vicinity, a retired farmer who died Nov. 7, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Sickman and Dunning funeral home by Wesley Cox, Mrs. James Marks accompanied vocalists, Mrs. Lloyd Keller and Mrs. Eugene Swabby. Pallbearers were John James, Frank Burke, Buford Huey, D. E. Arnold, Vollie Hindes and Jack McNutt. Interment was in Englewood cemetery. Torrance Harvey White was born Aug 29, 1887, in Marion county, Arkansas, the son of John D. and Orlena Mcbee White. When about nine years of age he moved with his parents to Iconium where he spent his childhood. On Feb 19, 1908 he married Ruth Cross, to which union eight children were born. When 25 years of age he professed his faith in Christ and united with the concord Baptist church, east of Lowry city, where for more than 30 years he was a deacon. The family had lived near Montrose for a number of years and had lived the past 13 years in their present home. Mr. White was a devoted husband and father and a kind, thoughtful friend and neighbor. He was a faithful Christian and was well read and well versed in the bible. Besides his wife he leaves the eight children Seth E. and Kenneth Eugene, Clinton; Richard B., Butler; Torrance Ervin, Grandview; Herschel C. Lone Jack; Raymond C., Jefferson City; Mrs. Naomi Smith, Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. Neola Foster, Lee's Summit; 17 grandchildren, on of whom Barbara Ann White, was taken into the home after the death of her mother and reared as an own child; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Quigley, Kansas City, Kansas, many other relatives and friends. His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
