WITHERSPOON OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== WITHERSPOON, Geraldine DALTON GRAHAM 1922 - 1993 Geraldine Dalton Witherspoon was born March 8, 1922 in Henry County, the daughter of Lee and Bertha (Sell) Dalton. she died July 13, 1993, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. She grew up in Henry County. She attended school in Henry County, also. In 1937, she was married to Albert Donald Graham, Sr. and lived in Kansas City and later in Laurie. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. In 1973, she married Robert Witherspoon. With this marriage she acquired three step-sons and four step-daughters. She was a homemaker. She loved her family very much and devoted her life to taking care of them. She loved fishing and camping and especially enjoyed their summer place on Truman lake. Her love of music led her to playing the organ and piano for family entertainment. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing. She was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church of Kansas City. She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home, her mother, Bertha Dalton of Westwood Nursing Home, Clinton; two sons, Albert Donald Graham, Jr. of Excelsior Springs, George W. Graham of Kansas City; two daughters, Diana M. Hill and Joyce E. Raney, both of Clinton; three step-sons, Norman Witherspoon, Holden, Dwayne Witherspooon, Lowry City, Dennis Witherspoon, Foss, Oklahoma, three step-daughters, Barbara Dean and Joann Taylor, both of Clinton, Darlene Herron, Lowry City; 38 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Carl Dalton, Ault, Colorado, Bill Dalton, Kingsley, Iowa, Leroy Dalton, Deepwater, four sisters, Laura Mae Barrows, Pauline Woods, Margie Sheek, all of Clinton, and Doris Evans, Deepwater. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee William Dalton; two brothers, Emmett Dalton and Gene Dalton, and one step-daughter, Pat Hammons. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, July 16, 1993, at the Consalus Chapel, Clinton. Reverend Gary Myers officiated. Mary Maude East sang One Day At A Time and The Old Rugged Cross, accompanied by Scott Brooks on the organ. Pallbearers were Wayne Land, Eddie Shipley, Tony Rens, Robbie Witherspoon, Ricky Land, Jack Alan Hill, Jim McCartney and Jimmy Don Graham.
